I do intend to the body orignial (except for the ThunderCoupe and V8 emblem on the trunklid). I had 87/88 Turbo Coupe wheels on and it never turned a head!
The wheels are made by a company called CSI. I bought them used and had the rears widened to 9" by Weldcraft Wheels. The black centers and polished lip completely changed the look of the car. No more "sleeper".

I've got one of those strut towers also, Came from a Saleen Fox.
Fits up great just needs minor shaping at the side bolt downs.
How did you run your fuel lines for the SEFI 5.0? I'm getting ready to pull the CFI 5.0 out of my 85 this week.
Love to help you with how the fuel lines are run, but 86 was the first year for Fuel Injection. It was plug and play after converting it to Mass Air. Wish I could be more help.
I have a friend who has an 85 that was converted to a Carb. From what I saw, much of the fuel system was very similar. He swapped in a 155 lph fuel pump at the tank (stepping the pressure down with a regulator), relocated the fuel filter for dual exhaust. Just not sure how the lines came up and terminated (he did some hacking on the lines to route them to the carb).
You may want to consider pulling some lines from a Mustang. There may be some splicing needed, but it would be a good place to start. Having the snap ring contectors is ideal, but if you are handy with a double flaring tool, you can fabricate your own connectors (double flares are what are on brake lines, they can handle the pressure).

I believe Mustang lines will be the best place to start. I don't think I will need to cut on them, maybe a little bending. If I use a complete Mustang fuel system, I can do away with the fuel filter in its current location and mount it behind the axle and infront of the tank like on Mustangs.
I saw your post and pictures on this car. It looks like you were able a to get a solid car for small intial out lay. Congrats.
You are hitting it quick on making your upgrades!
If you are able to snag complete Mustang fuel lines, you should have enough parts to work with, in conjunction with some of the T-Bird stuff. The longer wheel base on the T-Bird and fuel filter relocation are the main issues, but a little head scratching will get that solved! The rest should "fall into place" (how many times have I heard that...).
Thanks. I started fixing the body damage last night. These header panels and bumpers are a little more difficult than a fox body Mustang but not too bad.
I've converted one 4 cylinder Mustang to a V8 and that swap required both fuel lines and a brake line from a V8 car to be installed. Not too difficult if you can find a badly wrecked V8 that the junk yard is willing to flip on its side. The hard part is laying on your back trying to install the lines.
I hear ya on crawling around on your back, it's the worst. There will be a day when I will have a lift, I just need to quit buying car parts!
I've converted a Mustang 4 cylinder to a V8 too. I remember all the little things that were different and needed to be upgraded. Initially I used the stock lines with a regulator to feed the carb. When I upgraded the pump to a 255 lph pump, there was so much pressure in those tiny lines, I couldn't adjust it low enough to keep the carb from flooding out! I upgraded to a real fuel system... I still have the car, but it's more of a "purpose built" vehicle now. I have a pic of it pulling the wheels on the dragstrip, but the file size is a little too big for this format.

The '87-'88 TCs and '88 V8 cars have a different fuel routing than the other Fox Birds/Cougs... Still need to swap in the V8 lines because of the different routing in the engine compartment...
