I WAAAAANT one so bad. The look is just killer. Like I said I love the Charger, I think it's pretty badass-looking....but I just can't help thinking "if only they made it like that". Likin the revised front end too!
!!! I like that!! Now that dissevers to be called a charger, not that 4 door junk they made!
this is how the charger should of apeared from the factory. and not a family coupe/muscle car
I was hoping someone would do this...
Maybe, but after looking at my co-worker's Charger everyday, the four doors ain't so bad. I fact, I like it as a Sedan. Plus the Challenger will be a coupe anyways.
I though I would like it better as a coupe, but it looks too stubby to me now. IDK, maybe I'm just getting old. Maybe it's the pics... Or maybe I just like sedans. Especially this friggin Pontiac G8 (http://"http://www.pontiac.com/g8/"). Now where's Ford's RWD Sports Sedan?
Now if they give the Challenger AWD that would BA. Actually if they give this Charger Coupe AWD that would be BAMF! :D
Either way there is a lot of work put into that car already. I can't wait to see some finished pics.
who needs a ford rwd when they are gonna do the new taurus SHO. At least they better! Turbo and AWD
Pretty sweet, the new charger should have never been called a charger in the first place Intrepid seems to fit it much better.
Supercharged and turbocharged. Lethal combination... Wouldn't mind seeing the numbers on that baby...
Personally,I like the 4 door as well.I do like the two door better, but,it's still V-8 rear drive and in SRT form, can HAUL.Better than the Charger of the 80's,and as long as we have have rear drive V-8 cars around,we should be thankful. It could be a front drive sled.
You're god right! That 4 door monstrosity they have is no Charger. My roomate has one, and he has some stuff done to it. This car deserves the name.
Yes,it's a Charger. It's like saying the Fox body Cougar isn't a Cougar compared to a big block powered '68 or '69 Cougar.Or my '88 Sport isn't really a Thunderbird because it's not a two seater roadster like the originals. As I stated, better than a front drive V-6 car,and with the new 6.1 litre Hemi,it caan really lay down some pain to the competition.........even as a 4 door.
I'm still trying to figure out why they didn't offer a 2dr charger.
That is going to be pretty sweet. I just hope they don't paint it black like the sketch on the first link because it will be too dark to see the details of all their hard work. Make it stand out not with a high impact color but something like the factory inferno red. That would be sweet.
On the 4-door charger thing. I was against it when it started but now I like it and would buy one in a heartbeat.
THATS what makes me not care in the end. Same with the GTO. At first I was like how stupid why dont they just sell HOLDENS here instead of rebadging them....but then I look outside and see how many 4 cyl wrong wheel drivers there are on my street, and I'm suddenly very thankful :D
All of the Pentastar stuff makes me throw up in my mouth a little every time I see one on the road.
Now if only they would offer a 6spd to go with that new 6.1. But NOOOOOO, Mopar must be against manual trannies. You can't get one unless it backs a 4cyl or in a truck! Oh, or unless you get a Viper.
I'll get flamed for this but it has to be said, Ford doesn't off many manuals either though. yes, you can get one in the Mustangs but not in their smaller cars unless it's behind a 4cyl. The new Taurus/Sables and the crossover cousins don't offer a stick either. I'd rather have a manual anyday over a slush box. Ok, you can start flaming now.
The least impressive 425 HP I've yet seen in a car. They are just too heavy. Nice looking (I love the look of the SRT hood) but just too heavy.
Everyone that hates the Charger (and the GTO for that matter) "seem" to hate it for one reason. The name. I admit, I was/am guilty of it too. Especially with the GTO, it just looks too much like a Cavalier... but I digress.
Once I stopped associating the current Charger with the one of yesteryear I could stop focusing on how many doors it has and look at the car as a whole. And I gotta say, I like what I see. In fact, when it comes time for us to pick a Sedan, it's on my list.... along with that G8. :D
Another name I can't get over is the all-new Ford Taurus! Woo-hoo a rebadged 500 (yes I'm a hypocrite and I don't care! lol... hate that car). Even if they do offer an SHO model, it will take a lot (cosmetically especially) for me to like that car. Not to mention it's FWD/AWD based with performance not in mind. Hopefully they will re-design the Taurus into a sweet machine. But this is Ford we are talking about here... not exactly the greatest decision making company in whole world.

I think if they make it like that, It will sell! Plus its planed to be a standard!
Hahah! You are such a fanboy, Chuck.
I can't stand any of the C/D/J offerings....ick....
The reason it's a 4 door is because that's the majority of cars sold. Most (Not all) people want a car that's easy to get the kids in and out of,groceries,or whatever,so,most of the two door cars are gone.Yes,it the Charger is heavy, but so is the new Mustang. The Charger has two more doors, but it can hold it's own against a lot of smaller cars.I'll continue to support it.With the rear drive and V-8,it may help other car companies continue to compete in the V-8,rear drive category. The Holden couldn't be sold here because it doesn't conform to the safety standards here in the U.S. (and a few other places). The GTO had to be somewhat redesigned (fuel tank location, etc) to be sold here. Now GM is making a whole new "universal" platform.
Thats the reason my mom bought her intrepid, so I could get in and out of the back seat.... low and behold..... i havent been in that back seat since she got it.
I love my 2dr cars :D So when someone wants a ride they have to pay the price :D
Maybe if the majority of Americans went on a diet and went outside every now and then they might not be so obese that getting in the rear seat of a 2 door vehicle is an issue.
Ever look at station wagons from the '50's? 2 doors.
A buddy of mine has an '06 GTO and that thing rocks. Tons of bottom end torque and it screams on the top end.
I was waiting for someone to say this thank you chuck, although i do have to admit i like the new Challenger. The charger i have hated from the beginningits a 300 with a dodge fron clip :hick: .
Your car is a T-bird with a Mercury front clip. :hick:
...which is a Mustang with an attractive front clip.
But you see i can actually stomach all three the t bird, mustang and cougar the same cant be said for the charger, i do how ever like the 300.
