Fila is Banned
I, being a steadfast 84 Fila supporter, and shocked and astounded at these Gestapo-like actions!!!
, i didn't think it would actually happen.
Us Canucks, we don't mess around.
I ignored every post by that goon since day one. I can't believe it took this long to get rid of such an obvious violator.
Just to clarify...
84 Fila has been banned after considerable testimony from those people who've had negative dealings and/or experiences with him. The moderators have thought long and hard about this situation. We cannot, in good faith, let this kind of treacherous, backhanded, one-sided scamming continue. Only with the threat of banning did he attempt--via pretty words--to "make good on my deals". And it's doubtful that will even happen in reality. Therefore he is permanently banned from the board, banned from any deals with board members here, and his other screen name has also been banned. Any attempt by 84 Fila to procure another screen name will be swiftly denied.
For those that liked him, that perhaps even considered him a friend (or "friend-like"), we had hoped it wouldn't come down to this. But he dug his own grave, over and over.
Obviously he can still lurk here. He will still talk to members via IM's. But he will not be making any deals through the board. The days of 84 Fila overpromising and never delivering are over.
This is also a warning to those that abuse their posting privileges. We've got our eyes on you, too. Post wisely.
Yeah he still promises me I will see money for a set of taillights he wants. :rolleyes:
I have no real grudge against him, but from the sounds of things, he wasn't somebody you could count on.....
It took me 3 months to get $20 out of him for my FILA brochure. Lucky for me I never* ship without payment.
*Being the 1 time I shipped to daboss351 before payment and he did good.
I must have gotten 2-3 PM's a day for 6 months from him about parts. He never bought any.

i've never had any dealings with him, but he has asked me to buy a holley fuel pump for him. i'm just not that nice of a guy when it comes to my money.

As one who has been basically silent, but has access to the info Eric is referring, yes there was much agonizing over this ban... Not having any dealings with him, I just stayed off to the side, but I fully support the moderators decision...

Well...we couldn't just leave a banned user's car up there...had to do something. We thought y'all would get a kick out of that. ;)
I think this is a good thing for this board, that way someone else can't be taken advantage of. Some people take the kind of thing he did really different than the people on this board. Again, this is good.
OK, when someone is banned they can still see the board and be signed in under their original screen name. But they cannot post, see photos, send or receive PM's, edit their old posts, etc. We have even made sure he cannot communicate with the admins. Our last banned ass monkey tried to get the last word in that way. Won't happen again.
My vote was to eliminate his screen name completely...that way we'd never see his name at the bottom of the main screen, and all of his threads would have also disappeared forever. I feel that if we want someone gone, they should be gone for good.
But we talked about it, and we feel that it's best to leave his posts because they show a) what an ass he really is, b) his obvious lack of knowledge, c) his "promises" to better himself that never came to fruition, and d) his multiple deals gone wrong--and all negative feedback about them. This way, if someone is approached by ol' Mikey Reeves for a deal outside of this board, they can dig around the Internet and hopefully find all of our info about him (thanks, Google!).
It's also come to our attention that this isn't the only board where he's done this. And we're rather forgiving in perspective. So Mikey's in for a rough ride. He buried himself, there's nobody else to blame, so now he's gotta deal with all the consequences.
So if you see his name on the bottom of the screen, he's lurking. And now we all know that. And you can bet he'll circumvent the board to try to make more "deals". If you don't want to be bothered by him at all, be sure to block him on your IM program. Be sure to report all unwanted IM activity to the admins here.
In case you thought all of Mikey's dealings were small potatoes.

Ya know, I actually was feeling sorry for the little c00ch when this all started, thinking it was just a string of bad luck and cirspoogestances on his part. Being on dialup I don't visit every thread (was completely unaware of the whole "84 Fila progress thread" drama until recently). The more I learn about this douche the stupider I feel for pitying him. He's brought it all on himself, and he is making absolutely no efforts to "make good", other than saying that he wants to "make good".

I dont quite understand this situation here... Fila told me that Baxo said that he could be unbanned when he fixed all of his problems and sent tracking numbers for the shipments. now you guys are saying that he will never be unbanned and that he is making no effort to fix his mistakes?

I just got off the phone with fila,, yeah his is upset but he knows i dont make things sound pretty. He knows it will be a long time coming before he can really fix all this.
His main problem,,,,, Dragging his feet. I told him that and he agrees as if he can argue the point. Dragging your feet can make or break your ever so valued "word". As a result of the dragin of said feet, he has created problems or experienced money issues that would delay someone of his age and means of income.
He asked for my high volume fuel pump. I forgot about mailing in on a certain saturday,, then i also got occupied and forgot on the following monday and tues. I used this as an example with him as we talked.
I said "i told you i would send you the fuel pump and i knew i fugged up so on wed of that week i payed a bunch of money to make sure it made it to you by the weekend. You said you needed it by then and I said i would let you have it".
I told him that you gotta say what you mean and mean what you say.
I told him i almost posted a thread called "how many families have had the Fila conversation". I know here at the cassity's, all of us know the sometimes funny and sometimes serious situations he gets into. Honestly, his dealings are rather antique except for the most recent transaction with shawn. Other than that, most of you knew what you were getting into in advance.
I knew better than to just sell him my fuel pump, i knew that the odds were good that there just might be a problem with getting my money. Knowing this in advance,, i decided to give it to him rather than inherit some resentment that was likely possible down the line. In short,, i shipped him something i COULD live without. No biggie.
We have set the bar so high now for what qualifies as someone whom we can pick on, im wondering which direction the cross hairs will be laid next since this turned out to be so entertaining for a lot of people.
IMHO, the ban is in my support becaue i have not seen anything from the mods that indicate they are unfair. Matter of fact, the mods have better judgment than my own government,,go figure.
Fila, you do know that this is no place to continue draggin your feet, just remember that some people will continue to give chance after chance after chance, hopefully you will pay it back like we had talked. One day you will run smack dab into your self again in life but it wont be you but someone like you who needs a special kind of grooming just to keep his ass out of trouble.

Add me to the "scammed by Fila" list.A few weeks ago,we made a deal that I would send him some headrests (Halo),a socket wrench,headlight wiring harness,and quad shocks,and he was to send me an Explorer upper,fuel injectors,and throttlebody.2 weeks later,I got the upper.I told him that I didn't get the injectors or throttlebody.He said he boxed them seerately and forgot to ship them.I got the injectors about a week later.Still no throtlebody.I again reminded him of the deal and he said he couldn't find the throttlebody,although he stated before he had boxed it with the injectors.I reminded him of the deal,keeping his word and doing the right thing.He said he'd ship it.He stated a little over a week ago it had been shipped,and,he wanted to send another as a good will type del.I told him I only wanted what we had made the deal for.Still no throttlebody,no word,nothing.I e-mailed him a few minutes agao when I saw his name at the bottom of people here today.Now he's gone.It always took a couple of weeks of "forgetting",misplacing",or whatever,but eventually I would get my stuff.I guess I trusted him once too often.What a bunch of disappointing .We're supposed to be taking care of each other here.I even stayed off this thread in hopes he would do the right thing and he would still be in decent standings with me and complete the deal.Add my name to the list of "scammed by Fila" individuals.On the good side,at least he got everything I was supposed to send.I still have his address.I was supposed to be up in that general direction with a friend who's moving his mother down here.I may have to spend a couple of hours extra and travel top his house and make things right.I hate being lied to.

I saw threads about this guy and he offered me a grille and he said send the money but I said I wanted to see a picture. Well it turns out he never pmed me again with a pic or word, but when I saw those threads on hiM I wouldn't of delt with him. Vinnie, in my book u r a great selling person here along with others lol, u make the deal and u keep to the deal. U send pictures and have great support. And thats how everyone should be, I have been buying parts from people ever since I came here and I only had 1 bad deal but in the end the seller fixed it with a full refund. People like 84 will make the group weak, and we need to keep things cool to stay strong.
He had plenty of warnings and plenty of chances. There's more info that most here don't know about.
Bannings don't get thrown around lightly. He's a sneaky, deceitful individual who ripped off one too many people.

he kept telling me that he was the "only authority" on those cars. i've since blocked him on aim because he's sort of annoying. he's on another website that i'm on and he's got less than 100 posts... the majority of them are in the for sale section. i'll be watching him there and if i see anyone who's interested in his wares, i'll be sure to steer them away.

That is absolutely 100% correct. In fact, if the debt amount (either $$$ or # of people or both) is considered high enough, they WILL ban you from service until it's paid off. Even more fun is to wait until he's in boot. They get held back in boot paying off the debt using 50% of boot pay (peanuts) until it's paid off. Back when I was in a kid in our company had that happen. Pay was $600? (IIRC) a month at that time and it was a $500 debt. They held him in continuous boot training for EIGHT WEEKS ($250/month) before graduating him to the next week's training.
This is what I am waiting for. I am still in the service and it would be nothing for me to find the right info out. Just in case anyone is interested. He only owes me a meager amount and is not really enough to get any heads turned. But if many people step forward, then the shiznit can get pretty deep. Just a thought.

^ tampa racing is the on that i was talking about. i've been a member of that board for years and thought it was odd when i saw a new member named 84 fila. then i noticed a massive influx of for sale threads by him. once i saw that, i started doing some research on the kid... i did NOT like what i saw. he's on so many forums that it's hard to keep up with, and he's deceitful on every one of them. i don't think i found a single board on which he's a respected member.
The funny part is that he's reading all this and can't say anything. Must be painful, huh, Fila?. Fila?...
i tried giving him the benefit of the doubt when he first started talking to me, but it was hard to ignore all the bad vibes and things that others were saying.

I had PM'ed the mod of the marketplace over at the corral regarding Fila and not so good practices but never got a response.
someone who knows more about him should start a thread specifically to copy and paste on other boards. this thread would include links to other threads containing his wrongdoings. that would make it a lot easier (and faster) to warn other boards.
What I find strange and/or funny about this thread is that there are so many people on here that seem to have so much to say about this guy. I hope this "Fila-Fella" grows up and sees the big picture before someone knocks his teeth in the back of his throat.

We tried that, Vinnie - in fact, he has been barred from selling things via this forum since, oh, around Cat Jam. Obviously that didn't work.
We gave him plenty of chances to straighten up and fly right. He said he was doing so even as evidence was piling up that he wasn't. Right up to the end he was telling us that he was straightening everything out, and the fact that some of you still don't have your items proves he was lying. Even a cat only has nine lives.
Some of you are saying "Well, I got my stuff, I only had to poke and prod him a bit". The point is that you shouldn't have to. When a person offers something for sale they should be ready, willing, and able to sell it. It should not be "somewhere in the garage, I've got to find it". It shouldn't be "At a buddy's house". These are red flags that should tell you that he hasn't got what he's promising, or he hasn't been able to steal out of the car he saw it in yet (more on that below).
This was not a snap decision. It has been brewing for months. The admins, mods, and several regular members have been discussing this issue in private for a loooooong time. We gave him as many chances as any reasonable person would, including initially simply banning him from selling/buying with members here. He was dishonest throughout the entire thing. It wasn't only his promising parts, taking payment, and not delivering that got him banned, it was more. For example, we have info strongly suggesting that he was stealing parts and selling them here (IE going to pick-n-pulls, filling his pockets, and then selling his purloined goods in our forums). We've also heard stories about him "lifting" parts from or out of other people's cars. These are the "Red Flags" I mentioned above. There was even one incident in which he almost got another member of this board in trouble with the law. I will not go into details in order to protect the innocent.
In other words, he was just plain dishonest, and he was taking us all for a ride. It was his own actions that brought about his banning. There was nothing personal about it. He uses the "I'm just a kid, and I'm learning" excuse every time and has people feeling so sorry for him that it almost works. Not anymore. We simply cannot continue letting a person use this message board as a vehicle to rip people off (or sell stolen goods).

I almost forgot that he was supposed to send me a set of turbo coupe foglight brackets off his TC "parts car" last winter.
He told me he'd send them to me for free. Then I waited, got an excuse, waited, got an excuse...finally after 3 weeks I said forget it! I'm glad I didn't wait and I'm really glad I didn't send him any money.

Well I say now that he is baned that we should stop talking about him. Sure he made some mistakes (still making), but the more "we" talk about the more we will find wrong with him.
And that will only start bickering with other people due to being "upset" with Mikey, (misdirected anger). So we should just let this die and save us all a headache.
