Three guesses where the author is from... And the first two don't count...
Alberta
Yup, resident of the dirty west.
I can't play fiddle........... but I can play guitar, bass, piano, flute, and tuba. :hick: And who ever needs an excuse to get drunk and wear a kilt?
Well, they ain’t from Newfoundland…
1. If Quebec separated, we won’t float off to sea. We are already an island so we have no ties to the mainland…other than Labrador. Besides, if Quebec does separate it’ll just mean that it won’t take so long to get to Toronto...since we won’t have to drive through Quebec.
2. If you do something stupid…we already voluntarily gave up our independence to join Canada, how stupid was that???
3. The work day is about 2 hours long. That’s right, we can do the work in two hours that you mainlanders need 8 to get done.

And for that we rewarded you handsomely.......... by dismantling your fisheries almost on the spot. I still don't understand why you didn't go back to the Union Jack. But you're welcome to continue joining the the Maritimes in poverty. :)
That's the problem with our country, the majority of the power rests with a minority of the provinces.
If only we had 'The Maritime Party of Canada'. One single voice serving our best interests. Just like the Bloc Quebequois, only no one would hate us. :) We would never get a majority vote, but at least we could have a substantial voice in the House of Commons. The rest of Canada thinks we're all part of Newfoundland anyway, why not?
How about an elected Senate where each Province has the same number of Senators.
The US has the same problem with California and New York.
Or to be more exact L.A. and New Your City.

That is the best answer yet. It gets to cold to live that far north.
Funny, but the Chicago area is MUCH colder than it is here in the winter.

WTF??? My last post from this morning has gone missing!
What was the post? I didn't delete it (and it has nothing whatsoever to do with that other ongoing drama)
I was just explaining that an equal number of representatives would be incredibly unfair, as there is 84x the population in Ontario as there is in PEI. Nothing major. I know it wouldn't have been deleted, so I was surprised it disappeared.
I've used the quick reply and quickly scrolled to the top of the page and hit the todays post button only to realize my post didn't have time to well post.
I don't think I've ever hit that button before.
Anyway, we're derailing this thread.
Yes, I understand that, but why should the people of Ontario be able to develop a federal policy that could ruin the potato industry of PEI? That's not fair either.
Agreed. Most certainly agreed. If there was an easy solution I'm sure we'd have heard of it by now. ;)
Hey don't go messing with my town :beatyoass: ;)
Dude, you know it's true. :hick:
