Title: 1.7 roller rocker question....

has anyone used 1.7 roller rockers on their 5.0 here?We're working on my friend's '86 Mustang GT.All stock engine,except for aftermarket headers.he has the flat tops and E-6 heads.Will the 1.7's work?

I'd say yes with a stock cam.

The only thing you need are the aluminum valve covers if you don't have them.  1.7's will not clear the stamped steel covers

Not to rob ya here Vin man, but how much, is any would the preformance be? From a 1.6? to a 1.7

Yep. If he's got the stock HO aluminum valve covers you should just have to remove the baffle on the passenger side cover. Should work fine.

If you added 1.7s rockers with a b-cam what would the lift be with on the cam?

No B cam with these.He's running the stock H.O cam......everything except the headers are stock.

got them on mine with the stock HO cam, no problems

Has anyone timed the ho cam with 1.7's and checked the clearance on so pistons. Would like to use that combo, driven hard. I believe nominal clearance is .080" intake and .100" exhaust. Would that much be necessary or would the high mileage e7 springs and roller lifters need to be replaced?
