Anyone hear about this? (Sorry E-man for stealing your idea, couldnt help it :D )
I love how these people's mentality is WE'LL tell YOU what car YOU can own.
Sure doesn't help the image of environentalists. Not that I ever took a likin' to em anyway :flip:.
Let me be the one to start the flaming.
MotherF***er deserved it, every hummer owner i have ever came across has been an assclown who thinks he/she owns the road. This is not any real news out in cali a group of enviroMENTALists destroyed a whole car lot of Hummers.
I just don't get it. It's not like you get a Hummer for free. You pay major cash for that emissions and gas pig. I have to agree that most Hummer owners are complete asshats though. But then again so are Honda Accord drivers...
Oh well, at least they aren't walking through car shows doing this stuff.
Why just Hummers? Other cars get just as bad, in not worse gas milage.
I read that yesterday - I chuckled and thought "that ain't right". :beatyoass:
OTOH, I think Hummers are for morons with infintesimally small pen 15es - I automatically assume that a Hummer owner is an idiot.
I agree, it's a free country and a person can drive whatever they like... No I don't even like Hummers, but it was his choice of vehicle and that's fine with me... For $36K I could buy a couple new somethings...
A hummer is not worse than any Full Size Chevy pickup? So are they going to vandalize the working mans vehicle? Asshat or not thats the guys ****ing truck. Who knows what he was going to use it for? Maybe he was going to tow his boat with it? Or his RV, or his six four wheelers because he has been more successful in life than the ass Clown who thought it a good idea to slash a tire?
Did this happen in China where all of the products that we buy are made?
Oh boy... these types of stories make me sick. Now watch Greenepeace to turn into PETA. Al Gore, you're my hero.
P.S. I dump used oil to kill weeds, burn tires and do all my A/C work at home
Those were moronic comments!
Hate to disagree with some posters, but my take is very simple:
It's HIS car. You don't mess with someone else's wheels. Period.
I don't want some jagoff in a chic Prius keying my 'Bird because he thinks it's a gas-guzzler, and no matter how lowly I think of Hondas, I have too much respect for others' personal property to mess with them. Someone who messes with your wheels has no respect for other peoples' personal property, and I have MAJOR problems with that. If someone buys a Hummer and then cries about the fuel cost he would receive ZERO sympathy from me, but if he can foot the bill for it, God bless him. I wouldn't mind getting my hands on a Lamborghini, and I guarantee that they burn way more gas than a Hummer if you're driving them anywhere near their potential. If I can shell out the dough for one, no self-righteous enviro-a$$hat has the right to tell me I can't own one.
The vandal should find himself encountering the business end of a baseball bat. Like I said, you just don't mess with a man's wheels.
i dont care who it happend to, i dont care about any political statement, no one "DESERVES" to have thier car or truck vandalized. what if a bunch of bowtie enthusiests go after fords b/c politically they prefer chevies over fords. does that ford owner deserve it? NO.
treat others as you would want to be treated. the vandals deserve a jail sentance. that hummer driver doesnt deserve th vandalism. people are so ****ed up these days... im losing faith that people would respect another person and thier property. next people will be ripping chimneys off of houses b/c they cause greenhouse gasses. i mean its that retarded.
EDIt, i think me and QL are on the same page.
make it three. Don't touch my stuff, I won't touch yours.
^^^ ditto!
Sometimes when I'm at the gas station with my Mountaineer, I'll see people in smaller cars give me that look. Like it's MY fault that gas prices are going up, the economy sucks, the planet is warming up...and so on.
I bought my SUV by choice, just like they bought their vehicles by choice. Nobody held a gun to my head to buy it.
But I make it a point to start up a conversation with them, and let them know that I only fill it up once every 4 weeks. That really chaps their asses. ;)
Bottom line, as everyone else pointed out, it's the dude's ride, let it go, it was his choice.
Plus, if he decides to claim the insurance on it and get it fixed, won't it take even MORE of the earth's energy and resources to fix it, than it would if they'd left it alone in the first place? Think about it...
5!
Exactly. People don't think.
I found this on the Corral, thats EXACTLY what one poster quoted...from Pulp Fiction. :D
The humor of referencing that movie aside, its stupid. Cars are DEFENSELESS. So is almost any other form of property. At least have the cojones to confront the person if you have a bone to pick with em. I would agree 100% this is much more about unabashed vandalism more than the whole enviro message thing (though that is important too).
I for one just want to say I don't judge Hummer owners! I actually haven't yet seen one that made it obvious its driver was a you-know-what. Someone else said "its no worse than a full size chevy" YES!!!!!!! DING!!! Aint that what they are? A Tahoe with a squished Hummer body on em? (Which is why I hated em at first, not a real Hummer to me, I think ANY Hummer should be indestructible, as in thre BODY is like 1/4" thick, but thats beside the point)
Eric, absolutely with ya on the insurance thing. AND the tires, they may just go to a plant that will BURN them, same with the body panels perhaps, if they get recycled the paint gets stripped off etc chemicals blah blah bottom line the vandals will cause MORE energy to be used pollutants released, negating their cause!!! Not seeing "the whole picture" just a guy that drives a car that uses a lot of gas and judging him to be a heartless good-for-nothing -spewer and thus somehow deservant of having his car essentially taken away from him, due to it being rendered undriveable.
I disagree with MANY people on some issues very hotly, and even think nasty thoughts about some of em "how ignorant" "how could they be that way" but I would NEVER consider violating their possessions, hell I probably wouldnt even confront THEM. I just cannot believe how brash and brazen some people get when others don't think
their way even though it doesnt directly affect them.
I tell people I want to live on a friggin island by myself maybe with some family and like two close friends, they think I'm joking.....
Im really just kinda exaggerating, NO there isnt a place in this wonderful country that actually embodies "communism" but to me the attitudes of some of these people aren't a far cry from what you see in those kind of governments. As if they are the "governing body" of the neighborhood and everyone who happens to live there should do as they do, because of course, they are omniscient and to do otherwise is just flat out insane:rolleyes:.
I just dont like people telling others what they should do/like/think in terms of their own personal situations and decisions. "Walk a mile in their shoes..." that kind of thing.
Exactly.
Imagine if this actually cut both ways in the real world?
Imagine a world without massive hypocrisy.
I can't.
So should people start vandalising Mustangs, because you just described the majority of their owners?
well we'd have nothing to rant about :D too much time to make trouble with our vicious machines
Whats funny is the idiots didn't take into account the poluttion they were putting into the air was far greater when they burned them than if they let them drive on the road for the next 10 years. :beatyoass:
If it's not your property....don't fvck with it.....period.
I think this says it best.
