I have a 96 cougar with a 4.6L I just started have small problems with the fuel system. I have a 75MM T/b and Upper intake with my exploer intake manifold so I am running lean right now. So does anyone know of any good injetor sets? I am looking for abit more then stock flow rate.
A throttle body and intake alone will not necessitate bigger injectors on a 4.6 2V motor (or 4V for that matter). It really should not even need a tune (although it would run best with one). Are you getting CEL's? Are you checking to see what they are if in fact you have one (some)?
Also how would an Explorer manifold help a 4.6? I understand the 2002 and up Explorers had 4.6's, but I was under the impression that they were the same intake manifolds used on the PI Stangs

we just like a little substantiation before handing you an injector set that will dump in more fuel so later on we hear back from you asking questions like,,,,, why do i have black smoke,,,,,or ,,,, my oil smells like gas,,,,,or,,,,,,,, why is my oil level going up when i add no oil,,,,,,,,,,or better yet,,,,,,,,,, why am i losing oil presure,,,,,,,or even better,,,,,,,, my engine died,, help!.
To add, the injectors MUST match the MAF meter, the TB/intake has nothing to do with injector size...
the computer will compensate for mods to an extent. you should be fine with what you have. i would check for a vacuum leak. also check you air intake system for loose clamps or a bad hose. you could be getting unmetered air.
I found a small bend in my fuel line and replaced it and the problem is gone now. And the Explorer intake was the cheapest route after my Intake cracked.. Long stroy not from motor heat or drive.. (I hate the kids that live in my area..)
