It's staying in the family, my brother-in-law comes home from Germany he just finished 15 months in IraQ and 5 years in the army. He's looking for a car that he can mess around with and mod. And I'm looking for a confortable car that is sporty and could drive my daughter around and something that my wife could drive if she ever needed to.
I had this car for 13 years and its been my daily driver ever since. Its on it's 3rd motor, 3rd tranny, and 3rd rear. I owe alot to this car and I learned everything I know about engines, and automotive work from thi car. It was my extended trade school. Without it I would have never had the ability to swap motors and trannys, brake work etc..
My brother-in-law will continue to mod the car and I will help him and teach him how to work on her and keep her running. So I will be still involved with the car and will be still hanging around the board.
Hopefully I'll have my new daily driver by next week, because he wants to switch the bird over on Monday, I'll be posting some pics of it in the user section :)
Sharp looking Bird Thunder306 !
I just picked up a set of 91-93 5 stars and yours look great with the black paint job.
Glad to hear the car will stay in the family. Alan
It's going to be a sad day giving it up.
So what's the replacement going to be?
Well I pretty much got the car picked out, I don't want to say yet, till the deal is done. I'll post when I have it
Mustang?
Gto :d
Sorry to hear that it's going away but at least it's not going far :D
By the way do you still have those rims for sale? I could swing by Saturday to take a look at them...
warm
cold
Let me check with my bro on Sunday and see if he wants them, I'm pretty much giving him all my stuff I had laying around too
Jim, sorry to hear that. But maybe now it will get done.
Who the fornicate is Jim :D
duo duo duuo the number you have reached t-h-u-n-d-e-r-3-0-6 has been disconnected.. lol
Just kidding, this is Bob from Philadelphia..
Fusion AWD?
I saw this one while shopping for my Stang. It was pretty sweet.
Yeah that is nice, whats the price on that bad boy?
well, my thoughts,
this sux. One of the most senior memebers here giving up his bird even if it does stay in the family.
i hope you decide to bring in another bird, absence makes the heart grow fonder so maybe you'll find out how much you miss the fox body.
Hmmm. I wonder what you're getting.
*psycho powers starting to function*
If a Mustang was warm, I'd have to say possibly a new Cobra. It's going to be a Ford in some form. Possibly a Fusion or F-150.
I'm not getting anything new, I will say its a 1996 and some of you have already seen pictures of it
1996 SVT Thunderbird that they only made 1 of? :D
3
Too much for me. Mid to Hi 20s, I don't remember the exact figure.
We live so close and have almost the same id and I 've never seen the car! Is he still local?
Jim
Ok I just got totally confused, lol. I though you (thundr306) were talking to yourself.
Zach's Cougar? :hick:
You've pretty much described a Thunderbird or Cougar :shakeass:
Fox Birds and Cougars are like herpes. You can never get them totally out of your system. No matter how long you go without showing any symptoms, they will flare up again at some point :hick:
OMG,,, right click "save as"
You guys are close, I'll give a hint... The car I'm 99% sure I'm buying is from another member of this board and it's been posted here before with pics.. It's not hard to guess cause I already gave alot of hints in the other posts
Sad to see you go man i remember back when i joined and you were here, i have been an active member since 02 i believe.
I'll be around, it actually good for the progress of the car cause my brother-in-law has pockets full of money and wants to finsh the car and take over where I left off. I'll still be involved with the process.
So we'll be posting/sharing pics etc.. and It's actually cool because he wants to go to catjam and all that stuff so we'll be more involved with the tbird/cougar community than I ever had the time to do on my own.
hmmm sho?

A Mk 8?
I know who's car he's getting. And the guy who is selling him the car is now driving an Impala SS LT1.
Traitor.
Yep!
BINGO! I have to get a couple things checked out on it, we'll see should know for sure no later than Monday
well im going to an SS or a SC after my car
So where are the pics of the car that was once parked in front of my house?
Pics are coming soon, I've been busy trying to get the car ready for inspection which is 8 days away than I can be ticketed, because it went from NJ to PA I need to get it done.
For inspection I need to fix:
the air ride - (both front air struts have been ordered)
check engine light - (left side o2 sensor)
rotors and brakes on all four corners
2 rear tires (thanks to mercoug302's right foot!!! )
alignment
other item on my list but not a priority for this week are:
tach doesn't work
fuel door release button
and a big one... a/c blows hot
driveshaft might need replaced/rebalanced
tranny shift alittle funny under part throttle
Than down the road she will need new speakers cause they just sound like ass right now... (no offense Bill :) ) lol
Here's some pics from Bill thread last year.
I'll take some more once I get the stinking air freshener smell out of the car (black ice tree air freshner... it was almost a deal breaker lol)
Kudos for the LSC
Ahhh, I saw that car when Bill came down for a meet I held last year. It's flat out gorgeous.
Did someone say speakers? If you have the dough, I recommend SoundWaves on US13 (near PA420 in Prospect Park). They're very, very good.
AHHH a 96 LSC!
friggin nice dude. The HIDs rock dont they? The 96 LSC was the only 1st gen car to get them. Pray the bulbs never burn out. But also enjoy the fact that your headlights are worth well over $500 used.
I miss my moms 96 LSC. I wished it was mine instead of hers. It went to a very good home though, one of the more known mark viii guys.
Check the 1-2 accumulator in the trans. Well known trans problem there, causes really hard 1-2 shift and can end up destroying the trans if left alone.
The tach is usually a simple fix, just take the needle off and put it back on.
Throw a posi in the rear, and 4.10's or 4.30's while youre at it.
The true duals on the LSC are nice arent they? I hate those huge trash can sized lers though. Id throw some bullets on there or something.
wooohooo sweet mk8!!!!! join lincolns online and if you ever have questions they have answers!
Thanks :)
It's a nice car , I just have to get these issues worked out and hopefully its smooth sailing
Yeah I seen that place before, right near the BJ's right..
Yeah the HID's are nice, I can't find anywhere that has the bulbs new only places I see with HID-9500 bulbs is on ebay and at $150-$250 each and their used which is pretty scary. From what I read sylvania stopped making them cause Ford never contacted them to continue production or some . So the first car in North America to have HIDs will also be shiznit out of luck in a short time.
I read that about the tach today, something about pealing off the decal and reattching it. To un-pin the needle I'm going to replace the burnt out cluster bulbs while I'm in there.
It's got 3.27's in it so I'm fine with that. And the LSC's did get a true dual exhaust.
As far as the tranny goes it doesn't have that problem but it does have a bad hesitation between 42-48 MPH only when your lightly accelerating. If I'm more than 40-50% on the throttle its fine.
Whats the site lincolnsonline.com? I'll look for it tomorrow
===========================================================
Well gotta go thanks for all the nice comments.. I'll take pics over the weekend
http://www.lincolnsonline.com/forum/index.php
Do a trans service, there was a shutter problem under light accel when the fluid was dirty.
Well thats what I don't understand, Billy just put that tranny in couple months ago. So I don't think its a filter/fluid issue
But thats exactly how it feels a light shutter under light acceleration.. between 42mph-50ish.
Now I can explain it better :) thanks
Ok cool thanks. I like how its layed out cause markviii.org is just a terrible layout but good info... I just hate how the threads are in trees
Oh something funny my brother-in-law was over today and I peeked in the bird. I noticed the MPG on the full digital dash was reading 7.4 MPG.
I was like dude WTF are you beating the out of this thing it was on 15.9 when I had her. So its just been him betting the out her all week
Basically he put the hardest 100 miles in the history of automobiles, every light WOT and spinning 2nd and chirping 3rd.. LOL well its not mine anymore so I guess I could only vent about it here...
I seen him leave the street next to mine tonight and I hear him reving her up and dropping the clutch.. and all the way down the street. :flame: :beatyoass: :flame:
thats got to hurt.....
Well when he starts having to rebuild the T5, he'll stop that shiznit...
yep i see a tremec in his future... 2k later he will learn
the HID's in the 96 LSC are the only ones of their type, in 97 they redesigned the front end of the car and they got the big headlights, 93-95 didnt have the HIDs, so the 96 LSC HID lights are perfect upgrades, and theyre well sought after.
