something unusual about the car though :dunno:
I have never seen or heard about anything like that before. Good find!

That car is amazing. Both doors work, too! Can't imagine it'd be very safe, say in a wreck/fire.
Very cool, but I highly doubt that car was a factory authorized concept, and if it was and the story of "all evidence be destroyed" is true that guy's in possession of stolen property. The car certainly wouldn't be legal to drive, and Ford would never sell a concept like that and allow it to be driven - you know there's no way in hell that car has ever been tested and certified by NHTSA...
Wheelchair access comes to mind here.
driver side door doesn't work at all, its leaking fluid check the pics theres a puddle under it, the trunk wiring is in shambles, and id be scared to hear what it would cost to get it fixed, other then that its amazing!
it is amazing.. but who the hell would you get to fix that? The guy who fixes the doors on the Starship Enterprise? HHAHAHAHAHHA
Screw Lambo doors this is the wave of the future!
well i hope its not a donk thing b/c then it ruins the whole concept. b/c next thing you know you'll see skyjacked regals and caprices with 48's with these doors and no one but them will want them. i think this is a pretty futuristic thing... as i see it could work on a "car of the future" it also kinda seems kinda... meh i dunno cheap? still a cool mod.
it says the concept was created by another company, and they sent it to Lincoln to have the "executive approval". which they declined.
yea they talked about it on LoL it turns out the company that made it does all the concept work for ford lincoln and merc
That is awesome. You never have to worry about door slammers again!
I wonder how many door openings you get out of a tank of CO2.
The whole thing looks Rube Goldberg to me.
Inside the car looks like $hit with no door panels. Like daboss said trunk looks like hell. my opinion not worth it.id take alot less and buy a normal Mark VIII if i wanted one.
Its a concept, its not made to look perfect.
How could the owner be tracking it for 20 years, it's a '93? ;)

Now then, if Lincoln had ordered everything destroyed, the very first thing to be destroyed would have been the car. I'm not saying that the aftermarket company didn't build the car and float the idea to Lincoln (whose executives probably choked on the reliability and safety problems that car would have), but I would bet money that car is NOT a factory authorized concept car. Like I said above - if that were a factory concept it would not have undergone crash testing and would not be legal for the road. FoMoCo certainly wouldn't expose themselves to potential liability issues by releasing an unsafe (even if it is safe it hasn't been certified as such) car to the public.
...And that's
if Lincoln had ordered everything destroyed. Even if it had been a real Ford-authorized concept car and Ford had destroyed the car they certainly would not have destroyed all evidence. Car companies do not spend money on R&D, then spend more money making sure that R&D never happened. Only Canadian government and airplane companies do that. If that car were "real", Ford would have patented everything and simply sat on the patents, ready to license them to any other manufacturer that wanted to use them.

That would suck if it was raining out side. You would have to wait for the window to go down then wait for the door to roll under. Then find out that the inside of your car is completely soaked before you got it closed again.
