Title: 3.8 head gasket install Q
Post by: HAVI on May 27, 2007, 10:43:25 PM
Is it worth it? On an 88 rust bucket with a slipping tranny?

I looked at it today, and asked myself, "Do I really want to remove all that  for this?"

it depends if you like the car its worth it. if you're done with the car its not. it won't be that expensive if you can do it yourself.

Yeah, I think the car is done.  It's a work commuter car, and I only wanted to get it back on the road for a little better gas mileage than my truck.  Maybe I'll use it for a guinea pig on my demented ideas.  And since I'm looking for a car with a better body....

that's part of it, yes.  Something to that effect, so when/if I get the better body, I know what to do the second time around without making mistakes.  $200 car got over 50,000 miles out of it, guess I can't complain about a head gasket.  But if it was easy enuf, I'd do it, but it don't look fun.  Thanks for affirming my opinion.
