Anyone know of a good wire to use as a 12 Volt Switch for the Electric choke of a Carb?

The "Stator" voltage from the alternator is frequently used for this.
You don't have stator voltage until the engine is running.
You don't want the choke heating up and opening before you get started.
Are you sure it requires 12 volts? The stator voltage is about 7.5 volts.

I've seen most of the electric choke's hooked up to the Stator of the alt like soft touch said. My chilton or haness manual shows it wired up this way.

The S (stator) terminal on your alternator goes to the S terminal on your voltage regulator. The ground side of your dash charge indicator (battery logo light) goes to the "I" terminal on the voltage regulator. When the stator voltage comes up it causes the voltage regulator to open the ground circuit for the light, turning it off.

The light control above is a very low current operation, so I think it is safe to add the choke heater to the stator.
