Title: Well....I wanted a new hood anyway
Post by: V8Demon on May 03, 2007, 07:24:32 AM
Seems the curse is still with me.  I took the Mustang to work last night only to have someone I work with back into it with the spare tire on the back of his Jeep.  He hit deadcenter and creased it, so there is no good way to fix it without using filler.

Price of stock Ford hood $577

Price of Steeda stage 2 cowl hood  $629

Price of paint for new Steeda hood....Who knows?  I guess my co-worker will be working some overtime as he wishes to not go through insurance.  I already ordered the Steeda hood.  I'm getting an estimate for paint at 9am.

That sucks a least it was only your hood could have been worse he could have took your nose out or a fender. And like you said up it a little and get a nice one.

$938 for prep, paint and install at Farmingdale Auto.  Plus $629 for the hood.  Total $1567.  I guess my coworker is gonna want to go through insurance.  At least the car was parked.

. Ive painted more than that on a car for $900. But I live in a small town, I know our hourly rates are alot cheaper. Im painting my TC hood for $20 hehe. Sucks, but youre getting a cool hood out of the deal.

That was not really a hard choice, just like the fenders on my 99 i can get some OEM fenders for 249.** A PIECE or 2 fiberglass z3 fenders that i want for 160 shipped. That hood looks bad ass tho, i want this (http://"http://www.promotiontuning.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=K019715&Category_Code=9902CougarExteriorHoods") hood but that for when im sure that i have this job im applying for.

In that case, I wouldn't be mad, I'd be thanking them. At least they didn't keep backing up and put the whole jeep on the nose of your car.
That Steeda hood is a huge improvement over stock, nice choice.

Well, I didn't have to hunt.  He was kind enough to stick around.  I'm sure he'll have a nice nickname at work now.....
