I finally reaquired an MN-12 Cougar and this time it's a '95 with a 4.6L V8 unlike the '93 3.8L V6 I had a long time ago. I received a great deal on the car but that was because of its few problems. I don't care about the damaged paint but the clogged cataylic convertors reared their ugly heads during the test drive. I went ahead and took the deal due to my terrible credit but I knew I had enough skill to fix most problems. I was thinking about hollowing the cats for the time being but I was wondering if I would be better off replacing them or the entire exhaust?
If you have the money,install a nice free flowing dual exhaust wwith an H or X pipe.If they don't make those pipes for your car,you can buy a pre-made X or H to weld in and then you're set.If your state requires cats,you had better do it.Oklahoma doesn't do smog checks,so I use an off road pipe.
Good luck finding an "H or X" pipe for an MN-12 car.
They have very little space under them with the way the gas tank and such.
Silly me, I forgot that this site was mainly for fox's but thank's for the kind responses. I don't have a lot of money but I'm hoping a can buy a whole true dual exhaust system and just install it myself.
