Title: Going to the 40 acre boneyard next week......
Post by: vinnietbird on February 16, 2007, 02:18:39 PM
O.K. guys,I'm going to the huge salvage yard next week to find a few interior trim pieces, etc. If anyone needs anything, let me know. There's about 12-14 T-Birds and a few Cougars.I don't mind grabbing parts for anyone as long as you pay me for them.I don't want to get stuck with a bunch of parts and additional spent money I can't get back.I know there are 2 or 3 TC ('87/'88) a couple of Sports, and a bunch of standard Birds. Some with full digital gauges.I know Aerobird wants red parts for Layla. If anyone needs anything, let me know and I'll do my best.Probably going Wednesday morning.I'll make a list of parts and for who. This is only for guys who have been around for a while. No offense to anyone.

What year Cougars do you think they have?
I want another front grill for my 85 but I don't
want to pay too much for it. What would you think
is reasonable? I would like to have another air
cleaner too from the same model that's made
for a 5.0.

Don't forget to get a bunch of head light and
tail light reflectors, we all know how expensive their getting. :D
Taking a digital camera would be nice too.
It'll make us all jealous and stuff! ;)

Before I leave,I'll write everything down.I don't think a grille would be too much, really.he sems to be a really reasonable guy.He has a BUNCH of Crown Vics.I'll look for the trip minder and fuel flow sensor.Where is the fuel flow sensor located?I have never had to even think of them.

If you weren't in OK I'd have you scope out some Box Bird/Cat body parts.

Hello,

I don't need the tripminder, I have two spare digi dash and one tripminder clock, BUT I need the fuel flow sensor from a CARBED Ford have a tripminder or full digit dash...

The fuel flow sensor is located on the right side of the engine, between valve cover and carburetor, and it connected between the fuel pump (mechanic/electric) line, and the carb, and have 3 wires on it, a black, red, and white or yellow...

Again, ONLY on a ole carbed Ford cars have the tripminder in the clusted or clock tripminder...

It look a little bit like a brake lines separator, some have only two tubes on it (in and out) and some have three, (in, out, and return to tank), both will fit in My car, I don't have a return to the tank, and I'll cancel if I have a 3 lines fuel flow sensor...

Regards,

Dom.

Vin,  if you manage to find a complete engine harness/ECC on one of those sports or 87/88 birds/cougars I'll be needing one.  It could probably come from an '86 also.  Basically I need the stuff neccessary to convert my CFI '85 car over to SEFI used from '86-on.  Intakes, etc are easily attainable and expensive to ship from OK to OH, but a nice harness would give me a great start on it.

Ifixyawata;  We are in the process of swapping a CFI car over to SFI.
We had to change the complete 60 pins harness ( obvouisly) but also the harness from the driver side around the frt of the car over to were the alt plugs in.

Had to move the starter solinod and the coil oto the driver strut tower.

Let me know if there is a better way.

 Thanks

Brian,I left you a PM.I'm writing all of this in my notebook.

Chuck,I wish you were here. There's not rust on any of the cars, and most of the cars look really decent as far as the body goes.I'm going out ooking for some nice interior parts, plus a few to practice on with some vinyl dye.

If there are any '83 cars there, I would be interested in nabbing the clear front turn signals if they are unbroken.

Vinnie, you already know what I need, but can I be on the list of stuff? I'd also like, if you can find, a nice set of 83-84 tail lights.
