76vega
4cyl, DOHC FI cosworth engine
whats it worth with all the papers, factory everything iincluding manuals.
Nothing....you should give it to me because it is worthless but I really want one despite the worthlessness.:D
It's a Chevy. Ickey-poo.
:barf:
I believe it’s a small score for you. don’t no what there actually worth though I think at first they were a hard sell like the turbo coupe but now I think there real rare and it might be worth some coin even a normal vega is worth money now.
hey are worth $77.54.
Don't know what they are worth but you can ask these guys. (http://"http://www.cosworthvega.com/")
I thought the cosworth was a european escort?
Cosworth is a company.
that explains alot
did some research on it,, turns out the original design team sort of voted on an issue with the timing. One engineer was greatly against retarding it but since he was shot down, this resulted in some negative issues with the exhaust valves burining up.,,,
the one i see here at home is black with the gold trim package and the cosworth dashboard nameplate with a production number off to the side. Honestly,, it reminds me of a kia sportage motor. Looks forgien to me for sure.
hp/comp ratio started at 185/12.5:1
later on reduced to 114/ 8.5:1
I later found by clicking on the various links in the article, the stock HP was 210 and an engineering company for the nascar division had a supercharged version "kit" that would increase the power by and additional 60%,,WOW
sux but they are rare. One interesting thing i found out was this car was about a few hundered dollars cheaper than the corvettes rolling off the assembly line at the time.,,now thats weird.
Honestly, this looks like something that might roll off the assmebly line of todays cars,, ahead of its time i think.
here is some reading on it with all the pics/goodies http://www.cosworthvega.com/cosworth_vega_history.html
Indeed.
But would you find it even more interesting to know the original body was styled after a car that was ten years old at the time?
Ladies and gentlemen, I give you the 1961 Ferrari 250 Berlinetta Lusso:

what shape is it in? 1-10? wont be worth nothin unless it looks showroom. if its perfect - 15-20K
shape is a 9,, gotta factor in normal wear and tear. no more wear and tear than whats on my coug.
well, normal wear and tear is sort open ended. i mean with a good wax you think it could go over barrett-jackson's auction block? b/c if so get that car in there! get some pics of this thing too. cracks or chips or dings in paint? rust? interior? ect. normal wear and tear would actually make it like 6-7.5. i mean its a 76, normal wear and tear would mean the car is screwed.
its not my car, i just got curious cause he was talking about working on his car and started piping up about fuel injection this and that and i offered to help. Then he told me the year and engine and i had to see.
ill see about getting pics,, it would be nice to share them.
yeh, my dad went from a roller bearinged vw, to a 350 vega... i really like these cars. i wouldnt mind owning one of them one day, but yeh, unless his car is basicly mint cond, he's not ganna get shiznit for it, which i know will kill him. its kinda like having a shelby and its worthless... sorta.
It's like owning a project Fila ;)
another reason i even posted this is because he wants to sell this block he has from a
,,,and i quote,,,,,,,,,,
"from an late 60's motor with a C9" casting number". He says its a 302 block. He claims it has screw in freeze plugs,,,ill check on this and take my camera.
ii guess most of you know where im going with this so i wont take it any further until i get pics. I might do that tomorrow.
thats a very nice looking car!!
I used to have that as a 24x36" poster, framed, on my wall. People mistook it for a Vega on a regular basis. The 3L V12 had much better performance than Cosworth's 4 cyl. :D
It's one of my favorite Ferraris.
You mean like this one?
