did some research on it,, turns out the original design team sort of voted on an issue with the timing.  One engineer was greatly against retarding it but since he was shot down, this resulted in some negative issues with the exhaust valves burining up.,,,
the one i see here at home is black with the gold trim package and the cosworth dashboard nameplate with a production number off to the side.  Honestly,, it reminds me of a kia sportage motor.  Looks forgien to me for sure.

hp/comp ratio started at 185/12.5:1

later on reduced to 114/  8.5:1

I later found by clicking on the various links in the article, the stock HP was 210 and an engineering company for the nascar division had a supercharged version "kit" that would increase the power by and additional 60%,,WOW

sux but they are rare.  One interesting thing i found out was this car was about a few hundered dollars cheaper than the corvettes rolling off the assembly line at the time.,,now thats weird.

Honestly, this looks like something that might roll off the assmebly line of todays cars,, ahead of its time i think.
here is some reading on it with all the pics/goodies http://www.cosworthvega.com/cosworth_vega_history.html

Indeed.

But would you find it even more interesting to know the original body was styled after a car that was ten years old at the time?

Ladies and gentlemen, I give you the 1961 Ferrari 250 Berlinetta Lusso:

well, normal wear and tear is sort open ended.  i mean with a good wax you think it could go over barrett-jackson's auction block?  b/c if so get that car in there!  get some pics of this thing too.  cracks or chips or dings in paint?  rust?  interior?  ect.  normal wear and tear would actually make it like 6-7.5.  i mean its a 76, normal wear and tear would mean the car is screwed.

another reason i even posted this is because he wants to sell this block he has from a

"from an late 60's motor with a C9" casting number".  He says its a 302 block.  He claims it has screw in freeze plugs,,,ill check on this and take my camera.

ii guess most of you know where im going with this so i wont take it any further until i get pics.  I might do that tomorrow.

I used to have that as a 24x36" poster, framed, on my wall. People mistook it for a Vega on a regular basis. The 3L V12 had much better performance than Cosworth's 4 cyl. :D

It's one of my favorite Ferraris.
