Post by: Tbirdmaniac on January 30, 2007, 08:41:07 AM
So, I'm not very good in English, But I try My best to understand and write as My best too...

But some abbreviations is not in My "dictionnaire", such as:

IMHO: I guessed say "In My Honest Opinion", but I'll want to have the right explaination.

IIRC: I don't know what is that...

And some others I don't remember I read here, please...

First, I never learn Englisg at the school (6th primary), I learned By reading the book myself, like Electronics Today, ect, and By the mechanicals books, and I learned More on the forums like that...

The explainations of the mentionned above will be greatly appreciated...

Thank You so much...

Dom.

IIRC is "If I remember correctly".I've talked with you and have never had any problems understanding. No worries. You speak better English than a lot of people born and raised in America. You probably think you speak it worse than you actually do.You're fine.

Thank You for Your good words, but I guess I have some issue in English, I'm the only owner and a big fan of a fox T-Bird in Quebec, probably one of the last four eyed decent one in the Province...

BUT, I know when I have some questions or problems I ask Here and I always found a solution here, I like this board a lot, and some great info on Your site too...

When My Bird will be finished this spring, painted, and all, I'll make a decal of this site and coolcats too and stamp on the rear quarter windows of My bird for sure, trust Me:hick:

You're My family to discuss of the fox body ford cars, and I'll try to help another at My best too...

Your words is appreciated,

Have a nice Day,

Dom.

I guess one thing we could do to help is edit your post so you could look over it, see how the words are actually organized in English grammar.

Uh-oh, the internet isn't the best place to learn proper usage of the Engrish language;)

IIRC can also be, "If I recall correctly" and IMHO can also be "In my humble opinion" (that's what I've always read it as)

Okay, I see IIRC between two persons on the board recently, buy I guessed it was a joke between his, but I guesed wrong, it was real IIRC (If I Remember Correctly), thanks for the update...

For My English writing, so, I'll do My best as possible, But I guess it's not fine as You say, some help I guessed to write on this board was very well explained in My first language, oh well!!!...

For the English people don't write/speak inEnglish like Me is the same thing in French, especially where I read some poeple in France, Oh My God!!!!, I never see the people don't write the French bad than that...

It's a similar thing in all speaking/wrining I guess...

Thanks,

Have a nice Day,

Dom.

I do this on 1/2 post I write, When I re-read My post I see a mispelling, or a mistyping and go to the edit as well, and sometimes when I have a "blank" or dont know "how write" a word, I'll go to the French/English website to remain Me this word/the word...

But I have a limit to learn "by the book", and re-read My posts, and keep in Your mind, My education is very limited, I was quit the school at 12 years, and after that I learned a lot by myself, in French and English...

In French I'm near perfect, but around 15 Years ago when I started to discuss with another in English, this was a different matter...

But I continue to grow, and It's not easy cauz I'm not in Montreal, I'm in a suburban, where all people speak only in French, except some people...

I guess I writed a lot for his post, :hick:

Now I'll return to see another post, and see another comments, after that, I'll start to remove all chrome molding on My bird, and some other stuff to prepare to the new paint, Yehaaaaaaaa!!!...

Have a Nice Day,

Dom.

I recommend http://www.wordreference.com/ for doubts in the writing. Its very useful when you want an instant diccionary or translator.

Your english is very good (better than mine). Im still learning the verbs in past.....see how i was writing in earlier posts and you`ll know how i am confused about the time of the verbs....

I just added Your Translator to My favourites, it look like the one I use "freedict.com", but Your do a more language of mine, It's useful, I'll use Your translator now, It's just because I have  a blank sometime (caused By a serious car accident in 1988), but I know the base of the English at large, I guess:D

I see a lot of Your messages since I'm there and I never know You was bad in English, But I'm not a referrence Heheheh!...

I never guess You already take a lessons in English, I guess You're okay, You say the past and present and future, I started to write in English with that with a friend, like  "I was, I and I will" hehheheh!, theres My first timer in English...

But I'm not so good in English as You say, cauz most of the time I make a longer phrase when I'll go to short one, But we never look good in some domain, I guess is the way to grow up...

Minit!, You're firedd a couple of 9mm at the new Year, Sunday the 3 at My birthday, shoot 3 times for My 42, don't shoot 42 times, Your gun will go so hot maybe, But If You do that, for Me, I'll pay for the balls...

Just to say In mexico a guy noticed My Birthday in My town...

Have a nice Day,

Best regards,

Dom.

Dom, your English is just fine.

Although if you ever do have too much difficulty exlaining in English, put it in French. We have ways of working around that ;)

From the way you type, i figured that your native language was french. I took about 2.5 years of French in highschool, and i dont remember much of it, but enough to figure things out if you talk slowly enough.

I must say, for taking no classes, your english is impressive. I work with a few hispanic guys, and their english is about the same as yours, and they have lived in this country for 8 years or more.

Yellow!,

well, I'm sooo drunk, whoola! :hick: , Yes I'm native from Quebec, Canada, and the north east of Montreal all You can see on a map is French native, pure "Kwebekers" heheh!:D .

I never do a highscholl, I lost the school at the age of 13, I lost the school just over passed the 6th grade of primary, I started the 1st of "secondaire" or second grade 1st If I correct, and losted it, to work in a mechanic/bodywork garage, and machinist in a theatre (I liked them a lot)...

I don't like the word "impressive" when his for My person, I'm just a stupid guy losted the school too Young, and tryed to keep any opportunities but I lost all, but continued to educate By Myself.

I always need to work in electronic, and The good books are always in english, since I started to understand the books...

I started to write in english in 1991 or 1992 with My friend (deceased two years ago at 46 from fancer), as stated on in My past messages,he started to learn me the past, present and future, (I was, I, I will) and after all I started to talk with him in english by the "BBS", in 1997 I started on the internet and readed a lot, and I hate the chat (already hate), started to speak with another and another...

That's all, that's the result at near 42, I have My own job in electronic, and the summer I'll repair the XXXXXX cars, most frame issues, I lie that but sometime I pissed off too...

Okay, what a mouth full, the beers don't stopMe maybe!!!:hick:

Okay, sorry for the long text, but I have to say this, and not very easy in a words...

Have a nice DAy

Dom.
