Those are ridiculous! you'd almost have to pull the intake to do anything
So waht is different from the production ones we have now? You still have to pull the upper intake to get at anything. I always wanted that BXR when it first came out, just to be different. Always liked that Roush intake too.
Now if anything, I want the GT40 tubular upper, (already have the Explorer one) or the SSI intake.
love the belt driven distributor of the BXR
I love the looks of the BXR.
I'd love to find a Roush floating around out there in cyberspace (or at a swap meet) but I bet it would cost as much as a supercharger. I always thought the BXR was cool too but I think it was around $3000... That's alot of coin for an intake. I wonder how many were actually produced?
Nope the BXR started at $999 and went up from there.

I thought you said "old school."
Whatever that means. I don't think anything whipped up in the '60s is all that old... but these may qualify. :)

Well according to most 5.0 = injected and 302 = carbed.
So the ones I posted were the first of the aftermarket 5.0 intakes.
That Vortech intake is "old school?" I thought they were still making that thing.
Ok, where does my 5.0 fall? Sorta EFI and sorta Carb?
100% EFI. Just a primitive version of it.
That Vortech intake looks like it was cit and welded. I'm liking that BXR though. Really liking that Cobra carbed intake too, though with 4 2bbl carbs it'd likely be a pig to tune
As much as those weber carbs & intakes cost, they should be ready to run out of the box. I got one of their catalogs years ago and yowza!
Sorry to hijack with a dumbass question, but there is a 2 barrel CFi ( I have it), Is there a 4 barrel version? And if I wana go preformance, do I go "Hi-Po" 2 barrel intake or a 4 barrel with a 4-2 barrel adapter?
Notice the secondary injector bungs. When this thing first came out, there were no big injectors, so big power supercharged cars had to run 2 sets, on on the motor and a second set cam online with the boost to supplement the first set.

i cant stand that. i know some people here want to get "5.0" badges for their cats and birds and i wanted to also. but then it turns out some site has grey "302" ones. ill be getting those.
the metric system is perhaps the worst atrocity to ever befall this planet. more reason this country kicks so much ass. :america:
That BXR intake looks pretty sweet! I always heard stories about it but I never saw any pics. Nice!
Only from the aftermarket (for universal fuel injection units that bolt to a four barrel intake).
here, here! i cant stand how if an engine is a certain liters, its like 6 cu/in difference in sizes, like a 5.0 is a 302(technically a 4.9), a 305, 307, and i cant remember if the 316 is or not, i think thats 5.1. but come one, we've used cu/in for how many years? and then out of nowhere, someone says, "well puppiesan and britian uses liters, we should too" i think thats BS...sorry, end rant
