I bought the '88 Sport a couple of weeks ago,and it has the full gauges.Finding a 140 mph speedo for our cars is hard enough, and when you do,the price is outrageous.I was wondering if a Mustang 140 mph speedo could be adapted fairly easy if I use a Mustang speedo cable as well. What do you all think?Has anyone tried it?I know it may be shaped a little different on the outer edge of the gauge, but perhaps it could be trimmed a little.
I had an 85 Turbo Coupe, converted to a 302, that I put a Mustang 140mph speedo and cable in. I remember having to cut out and reseal part of the ductwork behind speedo for the cable. Other than a little tpuppies around the Mustang gauge, it was simple. I wasn't real good at taking pictures back then, but I know somebody here or at NATO has some.

I think I'll get a Mustang gauge and try it out. They're all over E-Bay.As a matter of fact,I've seen a couple of 160mph Mustang police car gauges.Callibrated.
You could just convert the 85MPH speedo to a 140MPH one.

Thanks for the link.I'm thinking that looks harder to me than adapting a mustang unit.I'm mechanically inclined, but not electronically inclined.
Or send it to JeffK and let him do it.
How much does he charge to do one?
I had mine done over a year ago and really can't remember how much. I know it was much less than buying a 140 speedo. I am not sure if he is still doing them.
Jim
Who is Jeffk and how do i contact him? Thanks.
+2 for interest in how to get in contact with JeffK...
I'd rather pay someone to do it, than to hassle with it myself.
