Check out this thing from the DUB display at SEMA (not my photo)
WTF. Looks like a 70s montecarlo with some sort of funky ass front end on it. :sorry:
kyle
whatever it is, the creators should be shot
doesnt that pretty much double the effective gear ratio?
Anyone notice those are eight lug wheels?
yeah i LOVE the identity crisis--brand new rolls royce phantom crossed with an early 70's pontiac grand ville/buick centurion/chevy caprice convertible rear end. actually it doesnt look completely hideous but then again the front end of the rolls phantom is hideous on its own
It's probably got 3/4 ton truck running gear under it, I heard that's popular to do with those cars when they put the giant wheels on them.
or it was the only bolt pattern that they could get that size in at that time. more than likely its on a truck chassis it clear the rims. i like a car on so big rims if it can pull it off, i guess its the ghetto in me, but not that big il post a pic of a chevy on 30"s yes 30"s
It looks like a giant Hot Wheels car:pbb:
Bling!
poor 70' impala :(
You think that's bad?!? I've seen a Buick GN done up like that! A ****ing GN!
My only question is why? What the hell do you have to be on to think up this shiznit?
It's just certain people's style a guess.... just like the lowrider style. Not my taste though. I've seen a couple that looked reasonable, but they were way tamer than that.
I respect everyones right to do what they want to thier own car. Low riders are cool, to an extent to me. But lifting a car to sitck 22"+ wheels on it is one thing. This is a full conversion and the wheels. I just don't see a logical reason to sepnd the time or the money to do it.
A majority of people wouldn't understand why we bother with 20 year old cars with outdated technology. I don't care how special we think our cars are, most people would see it as a waste of time, too. Gotta think of it from both sides.
Its cool and all but the amount of unsprung weight they just added is stupid to say the least. Just imagine how much longer it will take that car to stop now.
I don't think it will see much driving time... to expensive!
It also just has a fake feeling to it... might just be me...
Daniel
I think it's the crazy proportions that make it seem fake. Here is another shot of it.
Its probably owned by a short fella with a complex.
i hope this fad dies ASAP
Amen to that, I'd rather see glitter-painted, diamond-tucked lowriders come back.
What I think is really funny is that there is a mid 90's Impala running around here with 26s...if that weren't bad enough, in very large lettering on the rear fenders it proudly proclaims: 26" For many of these car's owners it's not about style, it's about bragging rights.
Speaking of Cars with 26" wheels…Do you want fries with that?

Does that thing have stock brakes? I can't even seem them behind that barely larger than normal hub.
