Title: My Custom dual exhaust
Post by: Metal Matt on October 24, 2006, 10:24:59 AM
Had this done back in early 04 but never got around to taking pictures of it. Had it up in the air friday and snuck some pics with my phone. I used the mustang GT headers, high flow cats, and flowmasters. When the bung for one of my O2's got messed up and I had to take it up here to fix the threads, driving with the hole in the exhaust where the o2 was gave me more of the sound I want. Go figure.

Can you get more pictures of your tips and how they exit? Thats how I want mine, if its the way I think you have them.

Nice!  I prefer the LX style tips myself though.  How much was you system?

Thanks guys. I can get some pics of the tips in a bit. ;) All total to have everything done it was $995, but thats not counting the headers and I already had one flowmaster. I don't like the way he bent the tips down, makes it easier to se them backing out of driveways. I prefer the ones that go straight back out but the way he did it if they would have went straight they would have hit the bumper. I've almost though about cutting half circles in the back bumper and having them stick thru there.

That looks real good, I think that is the way I want mine to look, though I think cutting the bumper like you said would look real good too.

It looks like the H-pipe is welded to the ler tubes... If so, your gonna cry if you ever have to pull that transmission:welder:

Nice!  The tips are low, but cutting the fender would look good if done right.

I want 3" chrome tips, but I want them angled somewhat like the stock exhaust turndown, but not curved, just straight but at the same angle.

Yeah it is, but if I'm not mistaked the H is pretty far back probably leaving room to drop it. Or at least I hope,... because I'm in need of a rebuild and a kit.

Yeah, the highflow cats, one flowmaster, an 02, the pipe and labor.

a thousand dollars is about adverage for exhaust, expecialy if they make the pipe for you and do a good job. even if you buy a cat back, h -pipe with cats- have them install it paing for labor and some parts for lengthening it, its dam close to that. pluss if you buy headers too... nice work. looks like they even painted over the welds so they wount rust up immediatly and they used nice hangers, not some rigged up chunk of what ever was around the shop welded to the end of the ler and to the bottom of the hanger like iv seen before.

Around here a full on customized stainless steel 2 1/2" from manifold/headers including glasspacks and tips would cost $300. I have flowmasters, and I would like an X pipe. I guess I have it better than I thought.

im sure the cats were $400/pr. one flow $90.

i seriously doubt you could get a 2.5" STAINLESS exhaust for $300....

It's cool.  Didn't mean to start a storm or anything.

I'm just a cheap .  Where I come from, cats are for skinning and stainless is for spoons.  ;)  Plain ol' aluminized steel tubing will outlast most of these cars anyway.  I've never had an exhaust system I put on a car rot away before I got rid of it.  But that's just me.
