Drivetrain Tech / 88 Tc t5 swap clutch safety switch wiring
Hello, i have a 1988 thunderbird turbo coupe factory auto transmission. I am currently in the process of installing a t5. I cant find the wires that go to the clutch safety switch. Can someone post a picture of switch and the wires coming out of harness please... So i can see location and colorX

Engine Tech / garrett t3 swap into 1988 tc
for those of you that put a t3 from earlier bird or svo in your 1987-1988 thunderbird turbo coupe. What wastegate actuator did you use? my turbo didnt come with factory actuator and because of that im have trouble finding one.. if someone can post link of actuator that will work or if you have anX actuator and that will work.please let me know..my swap is frozen untill i get this figured out..

T-Bird/Cougar Parts & Cars WANTED / wtb: stock t3 turbo
I would prefer t3 complete with wastegate actuator since ihi stuff doesn't work. From early bird, svo Or merkur. .63 preferred but will take .48..
Since I can't find any for under 200 shipped that still need to be rebuilt. How much for ihi

Engine Tech / gillis over boost no change with turns
just installed gillis on my 88 tc. the straight vacuum port is going to vacuum tree, the 90 degree vacuum port is on wastegate actuator. i tried 6,5,3,2 and it push's to 15 and would go more if i didn't let off throttle. what else should i check?XXX

Engine Tech / Code 41 and 65. Will this hurt my motor?
Car runs good, sounds good, runs around 200 degrees in 90 weather. O2 sensor, plugs, wires were replaced 100 miles ago. Just cleaned vam also. What is a hego circuit? Car is 1988 tc, auto,lb3. Only mod k&n. My g2 arrives today..I know carburetors but I'm am lost with this car.

Code 41:
Intermittent HEGO circuit (Signal or Ground)
If Code 65 is also present, service faulty HEGO circuit (Signal or Ground)
If Code 43 is also present, service Code 43 first.
Airflow meter indicates low air flow. Check for vacuum leaks, intake air leaks, or a sticking air meter vane caused by contamination or frost.
Low fuel pressure at WOT (low pressure fuel pump, restricted fuel supply via crimped fuel lines or plugged fuel filter)
Low fuel flow at WOT with correct fuel pressure (clogged fuel injectors, low battery voltage)

Electrical Tech / Headlights are very dim/dark
I took the headlight buckets out of car cleaned the inside of bucket and renewed outside. Sanding to polishing. I installed silverstar zxe headlights and there still very dark... Anyone else have this issue or know something I should check in the wiring?

After owning 15 '87-'88 TC, I learned long ago that a high idle that is usually corrected on a restart is TPS related... Never seen a o2 sensor make any difference(or on any other EEC-IV) and replaced a few because of CEL indicating they were not switching...

I explained the short version. Did it step for step per NATO..

I adjusted the tps had to turn screw in 3/4 of a turn to get rpm to 740-750 and got voltage to .94 volts. With IAC plugged in idle is 950 to 1000. So far no more high idle. I will run koer in another day or two to see if I get any codes.
The o2 sensor is new less then 100 miles. Thanks for all your help..
Next project t5 hopefully I can find everything soon. So if any of you has the parts for sale please let me know. Thanks

Ok, I cleaned vam, vam hose and throttle body. Replaced hose from intercooler to turbo and disconnected battery.. idle was good for about thirty minutes. Ran codes again and got 10,11,41 and 72. Disconnected battery again ran car for a minute idle back down.. Ran code again got 10,11.
Found out from previous owner this started after a top end rebuild. New stock cam, bearings and rockers.

hello, thanks for the advice. i will try that after i put car together. Took vam out to clean, removed intercooler to clean throttle body and found the turbo hose was bad.
