yes i know, its been raining its ass off and finally stopped today but I havnt had time to go out to the garage. :(

well I finally got the 302 in th eother week, scored a complete t5 setup last weekend, thats in now aswell :)

just gotta start getting my fuel system together and what not and some nickle an dime parts and I should beable to finally get it to run.

since I been laid off I had to go ahead and use the 5.0 I already had so just stock e7heads/cam, air ga intake, 600 I think holey and a billet dist.

prally post up some pics tomorrow of the progress. Just put in a rder with summit today for most of the remaining bolts/gaskets I needed soall that will be here on friday.

Body work is about 90% with just one ding left in the drivers door, just finding another door to replace it with would be easy if it didnt come with manual windows. Just havnt felt like spending the money on a good stud weldin puller at the moment.

Drivetrain Tech / t-5 or toploader?
keep looking around for a t5 if thats what you want. I just picked up a t5,bell,fork,clutch/plate,hurst shifter, firewall adjuster, adjustable cable. might be forgettin something for 400.

Engine Tech / To Carb or not to Carb? Fuel conversion.
you cant do a lumpy cam and sd thats where the pyness lies, just find a pigtail off a mass air mustang and wire it in to the sd harness, grab a a9l/a9p ecm and be done with it.

but I cant talk, I just finished up doing a carbed 302 myself lol. Fuel system I would just get a external pump like a holley blue, and a regulator. Sump the tank or make a pickup out of -8 an line and run that all the way up with -6 an line.

no the quad shocks are needed regardless of your gear ratio, once you replace your control arms with nice stiff pieces then you can ditch the quads.

Engine Tech / 88 bird 5.0... only able to use stock e7 heads/cam with dish pistons?
So I have the motor out of shawns 88 lx that got rear ended. wanting to throw it into a 87 notch I just picked up but Id rather not keep it a stock HO motor..whats the fun in that? lol. I have all the E7 parts to swap onto it but I was wondering if different heads/cam will work with these goofy pistons.

NOTE Im under the assumption from others it has the dished pistons, not the flat tops like the 86 HO and I know it dont have the valve relief HO pistons... sooo I figured this would be the best place to ask.

TFS heads work with flat tops, possibly work with these?

Hey all its been a long time since  Ibeen on this board, Picked up a new project recently, 87 coupe mustang 2.3/5spd Was planning on swapping in just a regular HO 302 but plans change.

I have the following:

E7 upper/lower intake manifold
HO throttle body/spacer
E7 Heads
HO Cam
Lifter,pushrods,rockers.

Pickup only, not dealing with shipping all this stuff as I prefer a package deal. Make offers.
