i got a question for you,
the picture you showed here of the cougar,could you get me the cougar buttons (outside) if so are both of them there?,also on the trunk i am needing the word mecury off the trunk lid
the interior i need the plate where the switches for the windows,seats,ect is the 1 that is on my car the plate is all bent up & just about sed off ,if i had to get the whole deal,switches that would be ok too.
also on the passenger side of the car the door inside handle below there is some kind of cup looking thing there looks like its held in with 1 screw from what i have seen on my car, i will also need the screw too
a kid had a hold of this car took stuff off of it,why he did it you guess is good as mine,yards i have been to around here so far all i can find as of late is newer stuff,hardly no cougars at all,very little birds

LEADS on T-Bird/Cougar Stuff For Sale / some stuff i found
some picts i took today looking for some stuff for my 1988 cougar xr7,i knew i was batting a 1000,but the hey.
i thought that maybe some of you out there might be looking for stuff too,so i took pictures of the 2 places i went to today,which i found some of the stuff little stuff that is,im still looking for a XR7 button ,looking for the bezel plate that goes over your window swicthes,ect the 1 i have is damaged,paint almost gone from it
i have been told there is a yard that has a alot of the old stuff & real old stuff,thats about 2 hrs away from me havnt been to that 1 yet
the button i am refering to go on the outside of the car,what those pepole on ebay want for some of that stuff their outta of their minds!.
i paid $4.00 for a little bag of stuff,some guy wanted $10.00 each for some heater s,talking about the little block ones
there is 3 other yards i havnt been too yet,im almost sure there not going to have what i need either,but i gotta check it out,1 of the places i used to go to is gone now it had 2 of those 87-88 XX

General Fox T-Bird/Cougar Discussion / 1987 kitty in sad shape

i just got this cougar yesterday which is sad shape,but it has had a bunch of stuff done to it,new gas tank,fuel pump,filter & new gas lines
it has had the heads reworked along with all the gaskets,ect done to it.
it has also had a new water pump themostat & housing new injectors tune up,oil filters,some hose work,& some belts
the sad part
this car has been sitting 2 years in the meantime a kid got a hold of it & took stuff off of it,its mainly nic-picking stuff,but its still missing,its just about intact.
the paint & clear coat is flaking off & the dashpad is cracked all to pieces ,i was the last to drive this car 2 years ago,boy i got saw it yesterday for the 1st time,im here to tell you dont know what that kid was thinking!
plus its got trash from stem to stern in it,the window on the passenger side dont work now,in a little while im going to clean it up as it is right now it is terrible shape
best part of it is friend of mine gave it to me,he is unable to work on it anymore as he put it its going to a good home
any sugestions would be helpful

i have a 1987 cougar xr7,which belive it or not was given to me,its in sad shape right now in need of some tlc for sure.
there is a little history about this car,my friend who had it knew of the person who bought it brand new,they passed away there kids sold it to him,which he has had it since the 90s.
about 2 years ago he let me borrow this car,my father was in the hospital with cancer,which by the way has gotten worse now he told me it was his spare use it as long as i needed.
i loved the way it drove not too crazy about the digital dash,but what the hey!.
a couple of days ago,this friend of mine calls me & tells me the cougar has a water leak & asked me if i can help him fix it i says sure so we went to look at it,oh i was in for a shock to say the least he had let his daughter & his son in law use it oh looks terrible now,the car had been sitting for 2 years i was the last to drive it.
for about a month now he has been having all kinds of stuff done to it,its had the top heads reworked all the seals-gaskets ect work done to it,new injectors put in it,new water pump with new themostat & housing.
new belts and some hoses,oil & filter has had new gas tank with gas pump filter & new gas lines put in,so the car has a bunch of stuff done to it.
the sad part now
the paint & clear coat is peeling this son in law took things off the car for the most part its still intact its missing nit-picking stuff,the dash pad is cracked all to hell back ,looks terrible nothing like it was 2 years ago.
everything still works ,even missing stuff.
i dont know what that kid was thinking!
also the window on the passenger side dont work now,what used to take a "bump" to start it,you have to now have to hit the starter 2 or 3 times before it starts.
i do know what little i have messed with it,its got a 5.0 engine in it,it runs good like it did some of this stuff i dont have a clue on how to fix it, i would like to be able to put it back like its supposed to be.
it still has owners manual belive it or not,i found it in the backseat floor board last night,i dont have any picts of it yet was dark last night the car has been trashed from stem to stern in it i am clean it out today before it rains as i say it looks terrible
when it gets more light going to take som picts of it its still early here so its not light enough
i do know know there is a junk yard not far from me that has 2 of these cars sitting, at least it a month ago.
i did a part of a restore job to a 68 mustang so i know kinda what i can or cant do, any info at this point would be helpful,thankx for the look
