Other Vehicles / My Ranger
Here's my '88. Had a 2.3/T5 combo from an '88 turbocoupe, that's long gone and it's now set up for a a 351W/C4X

I love em too, only downside is that it's only a 4x2. They pull a premium price around here so I grabbed this one, It's a Southern truck with not too much rust.

Few of my other vehicles besides my '88 Bird.

Wifes '12 Focus. 5 speed manual with sport package, fun little car, and y POS 2005 Pontiac Sunfire sitting next to it, only a winter car to keep the Tbird away from the salt monster, not worth taking pictures of. You can't keep a strut or wheel bearing on the thing for more than a few months, but hey it was free.

1988 Ranger getting the 5.0 treatment, currently for sale to fund other projects.

Old DD, 1991 F150 shorty. 300/6 M5od combo. Made out of probably 11 different trucks with over 500k on the clock.

1979 F100, 300/6, C4. What was supposed to be used as a cheap truck for running errands/hauling stuff around the house after buying my first place quickly turned into a frame off rebuild.

1980 F150 Flareside, built for bombing around in the woods. 302, T18, NP208 combo. Solid axle swap Dana44 with leaves.

1992 F-Superduty, 6.9 IDI, ZF5. Took it on a trade, going to set the body from a 1955 F250 on the Superduty chassis. No pictures of the '55 unfortunately.

I also had an addiction to Honda 3 wheelers, had about 12 at one time in parts. Most are long gone now.

General Fox T-Bird/Cougar Discussion / Spring projects?
.030 over, GT40 heads with ports cleaned up and will upgrade the springs, GT40 intake, Will probably go with an F303 cam, buddy of mine has an unused one for cheap. BBK unequal length headers, 2.5" off-road H pipe. Delete smog components, upgrade fuel pump.

I was going to stay speed density, I even bought a DA1 ECC, but then came across a deal, A9M ECC, MAF sensor, 65mm TB, stock HO injectors and BBK cold air intake with a new filter for $350. So why not go MAF and have it there for future mods.

No interior pics and car is buried in the back of the shop right now waiting for the snow to melt.

Mine has all those options except for leather. Mine has the red interior, I love it.

I'm interested in the ECM. My bird is bone stock, so since I need to swap the ECM I may as well swap to an MAF one and have room for future mods. If you could get a shipping quote and your price PM me and let me know.

I would like to go MAF, guy I got the heads from also had an A9M ecm but was unsure if he wanted to sell, so I'm keeping my eyes open. No plans for a cam as of yet. I have a low mileage .030 over 1990 block but it came from a truck so it has the flat tappet cam. I am going to convert it over to roller and build on that.

I'm assuming gt40 heads, gt40 intake and headers would be too much for the original speed density ecm?

The headlights aren't much, I cut the lenses from the housing, attempted rechroming them with that shiny tape used for ductwork and polished it, polished the lenses, and upgraded bulbs. Still, they are mediocre at best. Chances are I won't be able to locate a 4-eye front anyway, so I plan to install sealed beams in place and fab some bezels. I set some into the holes and I liked to look, plus I'll have the benefit of being able to use any of the aftermarket housings to replace the sealed beams. I think i'll be able to make them so they are removeable and I'll be able to swap back to the original lights if need be. I will do a write up on it when I get at it.

Yeah, i don't really care for it, the switch positioning feels awkward when driving, if I ever complete the T5 swap I would build a center console.

As for breaking in a flat tappet cam, is it that bad? I run shell rotella diesel oil in all of my older rigs because of it's higher zinc levels. Broke in the 300/6 in my F150 with no problems. Could I expect any problems breaking in a new cam and lifters with this oil, a zinc additive and a good assembly lube?
