Engine Tech / What computer to use with a H.O conversion
Guy above has a box.. great chance snag it if need one.

Now tmo (I threw this in cause I remembered it's sn95 junk ass and replacing it from one of my previous rides),  ad1 yada yada is in the last digits of the computer not is full part number. .. No need have full part number as it may reference build date revisions and such. Your after a specific set part # and not needing much more info then that.. any builder recycled should know what you want  ad1 was one of the better comps put out iirc.. (mind you I been away from f body or sn95 awhile so may have changed).

Now word of caution.. Be sure use complete harness from 1 vehicle only... If have scavenged harness from 2 vehicles make sure they match as in both autos or both manuals... You can repin to match but why induce headaches.

His cranking is sluggish like a heat soaked starter versus weak ignition.... being that it's a rebuilt auto zone  pos I would personally have them test that 50 times and request another....

I once bought a 1 wire alternator from there for a tractor I did a  conversion on... The alternator was junk.... took it back explained it wasnt charging. .. they fully stated it was cause the vehicle I bought it for was not in the alternators specs and I voided the warranty. ..
Really a one wire Chevy alternator was never on a 54 ford tractor? Perhaps the alternator was never in half the Chevies it been installed in either. .. for heavens sakes no wonder I stopped shopping at their stores..
Seriously got into one hell of a discussion about how the alternator works...
OReilly s laughed and handed me a working alternator.

In any regards I'm thinking your facing a heat soak issue....
