well if i was getting an lsx platform shortblock i would, but it was merely a suggestion i didnt realise everyone was gonna get all buttmad about it, i guess maybe me and my friends a little used to seeing crossbreeds of anything and everything, and if i had money to dump into a coyote swap and then the money to actually make it hang with the average Lsx car i might aswell have bought what i wanted haha
I just found out I will soon be in posession of a 355 sbc short block with a spun bearing(s), im wondering what you all think as far as stuffing it into the 85, ive always been more of a gm guy but the fox chassis is easier to work with, i figure i would just rebuild it with some decent heads on a carb and mate it to a stalled 700r4, anyone else heard of another tbird with a similar setup?
i managed to put some dents in the door/ quarter panel area on my 85 during summer, i had a friend help me pull it most of the way out, but then i left it alone, and it seems as though the colder its gotten the straighter its starting to look, just cool that indianas weather is doing my work for me haha
im on the south side of indianapolis, but i wont be doing anything to the car til spring considering we just got a nice fat blizzard today, hopefully itll hold out til then
then again im sure youve done it before and had the proper tools, itd take me eve longer because i have to get a hoist and find a couple extra sets of hands, and the space to actually acomplish the swap
ill check that out, stupid thing is the car is an 85 so to do a swap i either go carburetor or do alot of wiring for sefi, either one isnt necessarliy an option since i have to drive it every day, the hardest thing to pinpointing this is that it doesnt do it when the car is parked so its impossible to physically see something thats wrong, you just hear the sound
well thats about the exact wrong thing i wanted to hear lol, it sure does sound like its coming from right under the valve covers though, it makes zero noise other than the slight startup knock when not in gear
im not sure what it is exactly, it sounds like loose valvetrain components but it only seems to happen above about half throttle, most noticeably when in third or overdrive at lower speeds, the car also seems to knock when started after sitting but it goes away like the oil pump is lazy, definitly need all the advice i can get on this one
good to know, im just not sure what i want to do with this thing anymore, i dont know if i should drive it into the ground because it has some rust and big dents in the quarter or do somethin wild with it
i like that, i was actually looking at using 14 inch diamond racing steelies if i went that low, 14x8 up front and 14x9 out back with some lower profile tires, still want some meat under the rear end, i was mainly worried about the tank sing because of these cars insane rear overhang, and im assuming that i should go up a swaybar size if i were to make good use of that panhard bar right?
interesting, i figured the biggest issue would be having a bad pinion angle or having the differential housing hit the body, im trying to go as low as possible without cutting the car with as close of wheel fitment as possible, just to turn some heads, ive got a motor build planned but im tired of boat suspension lol, and ive also been curious to see how much improvement the panhard bar makes
