I writing about my son's 84 5.0 Bird. He's had to do so much to the car since he got it that I need a question answered so I can keep tuning it for him. He had to replace the idle dash pot last summer. This fall he replaced the diaphragm for the fast idle control. He took it off but didn't bother to count the turns that it took to get the arm off since it screwed on and off. I found a diagram for what i was looking at on the forum for fast idle but it didn't give a measurement from the housing to the arm. I assume it can be adjusted since it does screw in and out. Does anyone know what that measurement is? I'm about ready to say screw it!! Any help would be appreciated.
My 84 Bird needed a new stereo badly so I pulled the old one out and there was what looked like a vacuum line with a bolt in it. It is a hard line going into a delay valve that connects to a rubber hose that had the Ford pn:E4DC-2B629-aa. The first thing I thot of was the cruise control. Bought this just to drive back and forth to work but the cruise didn't work. Could this be the vacuum signal for that? Any help would be appreciated guys.
