Ok, so ive done my mass air conversion with an a9l ecm, new mass air meter for 24 lbs injectors, 24# injectors installed , adjustable fpr, gt40 intake, cold air kit, motor has 10:1 compression with a pretty monster cam, and afr aluminum heads. only problem i've run into is car runs excellent when you first start it up, a lil rich it seems, but not bad. goes into gear great with no issues: that is unitl: the car gets up to temperature it all goes to , shuts off when put into gear and has seemingly no power to move across a parking lot. any suggestions on what could cause this kind of problem. ive done this swap on many fox mustangs and never run into this. my fuel pressure stays solid so its not running out of fuel. any help is more than appreciated.
No, its a 5.0 car, but its got afr alum heads, custom cam, gt 40 intake, and other bolt ons. So its Ho firing order. Just want to make sure a9l will work
I have found a thread about mass air swaps, but it doesnt give any computer part numbers so i want to make sure im doing this right. i've done many many mustang swaps, but this time its an 86 xr7 Im trying to convert. I got an a9l ecm from a mustang and the mass air sensor and wiring. I just want to make sure im using the right ecm and all and if its wired the same as a mustang. I just dont want to fry the new ecm. Thanks for any help and please try not to blast me too bad. just new to the cougar relm lol
