Thanks for the replies. I was really hoping not to partially drop the oil pan. Looks like I have to remove the starter to access the right side bolts. The seal is already installed to the cover so my options are limited. What a PITA.
I had an oil leak from the front of the oil pan. I removed the front crank seal cover and now can't reinstall it without damaging the crank seal. Do I have to install the cover first then the crank seal? I've seen a alignment tool but my problem is the oil pan seal does not have the clearance to fully slide in. Any experience in this frustrating deal would be helpful.
Hi everyone. Just wanted to introduce myself and my 85 Turbo coupe. It's a $500 ebay special that took a 24hr straight round trip to pick it up. I've had her just over a year and now have her as a 50+ mile a day driver. I had to have the motor rebuilt and repaired or modified other odds and ends. I'm learning a lot coming from 5.0 mustang way of thinking. The only pictures I can show now are in my album. Hopefully I can download more soon...
This mods so far:
- 40 over motor (was already @ 30 before the rebuild) - Stinger exhaust manifold, WG, and down pipe. - Custom 3" exhaust dumping before the rear wheel and dump. - Big turbo that I have no idea the size or make (no stamping or I.D. tag) - Manual boost controller. - Stage 3 clutch - Relocated VAM with temporary induction (going to bent piping)
