Thanks for the info, I have already checked on a new tank but more inportantly I need the filler neck that slides in the tank from the quarter panel. New tanks dont come with this piece.

help help help... I have a 1984 Turbo Cougar that has about 70,000 original miles. A few months ago it blew a head gasket,so I put it the garage and fixed it over the winter, all of the motor is back together now. Problem is the fuel pump in the tank will not work nor will the gas gauge work, no blown fuses, pump is good (I dropped the tank and ran power straight to it), no broken wires that i can see,inertia switch is good, I even jumped it out. i am not getting any power to the inertia switch. any ideas thanks
