I definitely plan on keeping it and doing some minor upgrades, I dont want to go to crazy with it but I would like to have a few more ponies under my right foot then what is currently there. At the moment, my Aunts 2010 hyundai elantra will blow the doors off my Cougar.... To me thats a little bit embarrassing
Thanks for the replies everybody. The car is in great shape for a 23 year old canadian car and she Runs & Drives great, I can thank the previous owner for having it oiled underneath every year, that really saved it, and I would gladly pay somebody to try to find a rust hole anywhere on the underside of the car. it does however, have a few Rust issues that need to be dealt with before it gets out of control..........The bottoms of both front fenders are rotten(Passenger side if really bad) and Im having a hard time trying to find replacements. Both of my doors are in pretty sad shape too, I can reach my hand right up inside the drivers door, the passenger side was damaged when I bought it, looks like it ran over a big curb or something.....thats why the bottom of the fender is missing and thats why theres a big crease running down the length of the door all the way into the 1/4 panel :-(
Il get some pics of the damage so everyone can see what Im up against
This is my 88 Cougar that I picked up back in October for $150. Its a 5.0/AOD with 125000 Kms on the clock. My best friend is a Mechanic and his sister had owned it for the last 17 years and she didn't drive it very far. the only thing Ive done to it so far is added a true dual side exit exhaust system (Very loud cuz theres no lers)
I know that there is no need for a trailer hitch being on a car like this and trust me, It will be gone very soon..... im tired of banging my shins on it. I asked my buddy and his sister When and Why the Mustang wheels were put on the car and neither of them can remember, so thats a mystery
