I have one for the race track along with several pop-ups. We use 3 or 4 inch pvc w/caps on each end. before capping end 2, drill a hole in the center of the cap, bolt in a lag hook, fill w/sand and portable weights to keep from blowing away. It works for me..
I had the tokico electronic pen 15pit adjustables in my 87 lx. It came with all harnesses with the adjustment s next to the shifter boot. Doing it again i would run the regular illumina's because you dont need to change the valving all the time once set, and the cost is much cheaper. The pen 15pits are nice, but once the novelty wears off you don't need to play with it.:burnout:
Average price at the dump is 2.50 ea (off rims) if wash is the same as ore, you can not haul more than 10 tires w/o a recyclers license. Get caught dumping them, a very sizable fine (just ask schwab) the best tire iron i have is about 60 years oldm and was made from an old leaf spring. Many years ago, when using a manual tire changer, i used an old axe handle to keep from scratching alloy wheels
I USE SPRING HOOKS, COMPRESS SPRING WITH AN OUTSIDE COMPRESSOR, INSTALL HOOKS(2) ON SPRING WHERE IT WILL BE ON THE INSIDE, (THIS WILL PUT SPRING IN A "C" SHAPE ONCE THE COMPRESSOR IS RELEASED) THEN IT WILL FIT IN THE POCKETS PERFECTLY WITH NO COMPRESSOR ATTACHED, JACK INTO PLACE AND PUT THE LOWER BALL JOINT NUT ON, JACK A LITTLE MORE AND REMOVE THE HOOKS (15 MINUTES A SIDE)
I used ford part# eoaz-7f330-a on my cable, the replacement parts contains 2 pcs. If your ford store can not get, e-mail me, i have 3 sets and the replacements are white nylon not rubber - tire baron
DO NOT SANDBLAST! MEDIA BLAST ONLY! if there is gray granular material showing, it is aluminum deteriorating and there will be craters when stripped. you may have to fill with plastic before painting. it is best to get them off the car as soon as possible to prevent more damage. use a good epoxy primer, then a base coat/ clear coat. that is the pitfall of chrome on the east coast with road salts. if you like shiny then buy polished with clear powdercoated over. we are more fortunate on the west coast because they don't use that on the roads. tire baron:burnout:
I just replaced the mast on my 85 30th anniversary car. it had to be or dered in (1 week) i got it from pal at LANDMARK FORD in PORTLAND COST WAS UNDER $70. O.E.M AND EASY TO REPLACE:burnout:
first of all, there isn't much difference in hardness between brands: snow tires have more void (space between lugs) so there is actually less rubber touching the pavement. take a durometer (hardness tester) and measure hardness between brands, there isn't nearly 1-2 points difference. tread blocks dictate traction, the more sipes: more biting edges in wet or snow, the best dry tires have less sipes or cuts in the tread blocks. best advise: weigh the car, then set air accordingly - tire baron
hydrofloric acid is what is used to strip alloy wheels, after stripping make sure they are thoroughly flushed w/ water. i have been painting and polishing and alloy repair for 25 years. nix to aircraft stripper, blasting removed metal
a few showers today, sunshine through the rest of the week, temps in the 60 degree range, we are experiencing the warmest winter on record with a total snbowfall of 1.8" - tulips and daffodils blooming, and my wife mowed the backyard last weekend. really bad for the snow tire and wheel business.
