I was at a stoplight and got knocked into the car in front of me. I washiznit by a early 1990's Jeep Grand Cherokee going I'm guessing about 40 MPH. There were no skid marks leading up to my car. They pulled out of my trunk and took off. Jeep had a temporary tag, so it was never found.
And, of course, had just given the Bird its' 100k mile tune-up.
My first Thunderbird. Family hand me down 1986 3.8 base model. It was my baby. Have pictures of myself playing at age 6 or so in my grandparents driveway with this car in the background when they bought it. I got it for my 15th birthday back in 1997. Miss this car something awful, even with all its' quirks: no rear window defroster, lack of OD, always soaking the air filter with oil blowback, 125 pavement pounding horsepower...but it was my baby.
And the reason for my screenname, what was left of my first "bought it all on my own car" a 1997 Thunderbird Sport. Curse drunk drivers.
Don't have any pics on my computer of the 1989 or the 2nd 1997 Sport.
My 86 3.8 had HG issues. It was an ex-rental car when my grandparents bought it with 30k miles, on its second set of HGs. Fast forward to 100k miles and they blew again. No biggie. Problems were due to the rental agency not putting everything back together right. Hello $1200 repair bill. But it was still running at almost 140k when we donated it to the Kidney Foundation.
