Well I for one will be putting serious thought into a v6 swap for my turbo coupe once ford decides to offer the ecoboost crate with a standalone
I agree, I have an 87 T/C that I am waiting for the Ecoboost V6 out of a Truck. I want to transplant the entire drivetrain into it. I think it would make an economical and extremely quick and fast car!
Y'all keep changing them motors in T/C's to 5.0 and there won't be many 2.3L Turbos left. Yes it will make my car more rare but I prefer to see them with the 4 cyl turbo as they were made. Oh well, to each his own. I know, put twin turbos on it and it still will be a turbo coupe!!!
It has 82,000 miles. When I purchased the car I had a thought in the back of my mind that I would like to keep it, I got and saved all the brochures, price sticker and always made an effort to keep the car original. When I still could I purchased items on the car that were wearing - clutch pedal, break pedals, leather gear shift ect... I've been a member of ITC for several years and I would agree it is more geared towards the older birds but still I enjoy being part of it and would recommend joining, I've tried to join NATO but they are re-organizing so I have to wait.
NATO is READY NOW!!! Just got the E-mail so you can now join.:burnout:
Pinion bearing worn out would make that noise also. I woud jack up rear end and put it in gear to find out where it is coming from. I would guess pinion area. good luck!!!:birdsmily:
Love the pics. Your car is looking great. Hoped you placed in all the shows. Looks like you had some real nice vehicles out there showing with you. I was supposed to go to two shows on Saturday but we have had rain since Thursday so all have been cancelled or postponed. I just spent my time in the garage polishing and getting her ready for the next show (I dont drive her in the rain anymore).
Well, You need to get the ten hole wheels that came with it and sell those Snowflakes, then the T/C grille, the moldings will be the hardest thing to get. Good luck!!
Also Watch for smoke on start up, +1 on changing that air cleaner. Drive it and check to make sure you get smooth boost on acceleration (no Jerk, sputter). Good luck. High Mileage is subjective, I have 130 k on mine and she runs just fine. But then again taken care of properly.
