Engine Tech / Turbo Coupe Swap Question
I found a parts car, a 1987 t-bird lx v8, which I was going to use for parts. I saw it today, and it's nowhere as clean as I had been told.  I also found an 87 turbo coupe, auto car.  The TC is really rough underneath, not worth saving, but a good parts car, but the 87 LX t-bird is better underneath, but needs lots of body work.
Big question,
What's more difficult, turning that 87 v8 lx into a 5.0, 5-speed with all the turbo coupe upgrades like buttstuffog dash, hood, rear end, etc or starting off with a rust free turbo coupe and using the 87 v8 lx as parts only? To me both the cars I'm looking at would be good parts cars but I really can't have all these car's sitting around because in addition I have a 1990 5.0 mustang sitting around.
Thanks

Electrical Tech / 87 t-bird V8 with turbocoupe dash
I've been attempting to locate a rust free 87-88 turbo coupe for a 5.0 conversion using my 1990 mustang 5.0/5-speed for the swap.  I was advised by members of this site that a v8 t-bird parts car would be of great assistance.  Anyways, the parts car I've found is an 87 v-8 thunderbird with low mileage and it's in really decent shape body wise, and underbody also.  I figured that for $350 I can't go wrong. My question now is if I go this route and fix the v8 car, I would want a turbo coupe parts car for the goodies like hood, rear end, front facia, interior, etc.  What kind of difficulties will I run into when swapping out the digital dash out of this v-8 t-bird for the buttstuffog dash in the turbo coupe.  Is this more trouble than it's worth?  I thought ford had a thunderbird sport in 1987 that came with an buttstuffog dash also, but I'm not 100% sure. Any assistance on this swap would be great.

Engine Tech / Thunderbird Exhaust Question
I've been looking for an 87 turbocoupe to do a 5.0 swap from my 1990 5.0 mustang.  My mustang has a 3" magnaflow system on it (I didn't put it on).  I've found a low mileage 87 thunderbird v8 which is almost rust free, and although I was going to use it as a parts car for the swap, I may end up keeping it, and using a turbo coupe as a parts car, because I have found plenty of rusty, high mileage turbo coupes in the Toronto area.  Anyway, I want to know how much of the magnaflow system on the mustang will bolt right up on the t-bird.  The magnaflow has 3" going all the way out the back.  The t-bird is obviously longer, but is this just at the section behind the rear wheels and the down spouts, or does the mustang exhaust have to be cut up and stretched elsewhere?

Electrical Tech / 5.0 Swap in 87 Turbo Coupe
I'm thinking of doing the swap of a 1990 5.0 - 5 speed from a 1990mustang into an 87 turbocoupe. I know I can use a v8 thunderbird harness and adapt it for the mass air, at least I think this can be done. Does anyone actually make a harness for this swap? I'm in the Toronto area. Also, can I use the 1990 computer module from the mustang or do I need an 87/88 computer module from a mustang or thunderbird?
