Tire Size is P215/70R14.

I know one of the cougar emblems is glued back together on one of the tail lights.  I think it's the Left, you may be in luck.

EDIT** Not In Luck.  The Right one has been glued.  It looks OK but if your going for perfection it's no good.

T-Bird/Cougar Parts & Cars FOR SALE / 88 Cougar LS 5.0 Plus Parts!!!
I'm selling my 88 cougar.  It got hit in the side.  It has some unibody damage.  The wheels still seem to line up.  It needs new ball joints so it's hard to tell.  The tires don't seem to be wearing funny.

I just replaced the Tranny with a freshly rebuilt one from a 87 crown vic.  It is sweet.
It still needs a set of springs and ball joints.  A small piece of the driver side spring has literally broke off.
I live in North Jersey.

EDIT:
I have 4 New Firestone Indy 500 Tires

Act fast!
As soon as I get a replacement it's unfortunately going to be junked
If your interested in buying, I'd be glad to tell you Everything about it.

I'd be willing to give parts off it.  I do have the original spoke Hook caps.

$700 for everything.

$300 for the car only.

$70 for 2 New Strut Mounting kit.
$150 for 2 New Struts.
$30 for 2 New outer tie rod ends.
$300 for New tires.

Misc Tech / Types of gass

you have a lot of beliefs with no specific reasons.

Amazing,

there should be a test one should pass before being able to join here:rollin:

yes...  I assumed that when dealing with gas it usualy refers to power and fuel econimy.  However we all know what happend when we assume things.  I also haven't specified which octanes.

In Sunoco and Hess I always use 93.  I believe that I get beter performance with sunoco.

As far as fuel econmy goes it's negligable.  I believe that with my engine your not going to get better fule econmy with better gasses.  For every day driveing youre keeping the engine at practly an idle.

The only time those extra octanes help is when my AOD is in thrid or fourth,  and some asshole in a BMW thinks he can pass me on the right.

So I guess at this point I have concluded that sunoco offers a convinent performance fule solution.

What kinds of gas do you guys prefer?  In my experience I believe that Sunoco and Shell are the better compared to Hess and Delta.  However for the price I might put delta in.  Those are really the only places I've tried.

are all fuels the same?  I defiantly believe that the air has more to do with performance than the gas.  More so than the octane of the gas.

I'm running a stock 5.0 with a knn air filter lol.

User Rides / Dead Pilots 88 cougar. Color Sugestions? (and 87 crown Vic)
I'm always Thinking about the color.  In the winter I went ahead and lightly painted over the wood grain dash.  I could only get the garage up to 50 degrees F.  So you could imagine how that went out.  I used Dark red plastic paint.  I don't think it's that dark though.  It's a little spotty but you could say it's a texture.  I'm not sure if it is worth lightly sanding and re painting or not.  I have installed the dash paneling along with the crown vic's stereo.  (which was older and better sounding)  And I get a warm retro feel.

Later in the spring I removed all of the plastic paneling and painted some pieces.  For the most part I think it came out good.  I took the door panel apart and painted some parts red and left other parts.  I also painted the back seat arm rests.  So now I have my High School colors Red And Gray.  Yay!  My only concern is that the red is to bright.

I am quite confused as what to do with it.  I like seeing color.  Some Ideas I've had are painting it darker gray or black.  Maybe accenting parts with "dark red".  The next think I'm going to be doing is the roof.  I'd like to have something soft up there so i don't go deaf when I'm parked under a tree in the rain with my girlfriend.  Ive considered gluing dampening material like they use in recording studios.  I've also considered leaving it bare and painting it with a dark matalic red I have laying around.  It's darker than the "Dark red" with less color.  I'm not sure how that would look when the plastic is in though.  There might be strange holes where the roof was supposed to be.  Plus i would have to sand/wire brush all of the glue off from when my father tried to glue the roof back on.

Drivetrain Tech / Inaccurate speedometer.
Thanks Guys!  That calculator will come in handy.  I'll look into these things when I get some time.  For now as long as I have a rough idea what speed I'm going.  I'll definitely borrow someone's GPS.

The crown vic probably has different teeth counts on the speedo gear. I'll bet if you put the gear from your stock transmissions it would work fine.

I believe I used the "speedo grear" from the original transmission.  Not sure if were talking about the same thing.  Some sort of a plastic sensor with a gear at the end of it that goes into the tranny.
