Engine Tech / Idle Surge - 1984 5.0 Thunderbird, CFI, EEC-III, Duraspark III
I'm late to the party, but I chases this issue in a '84 5.0 a few years ago. I got rid of it "mostly", but replacing the rotor, new Idle Air Temp sensor, and cleaning the injectors. All stuff it sounds like you've done. Mine, after all that, would ramp up RMP's uncontrollably till I put on the brakes or floored the gas but only when it got warmed up and had been stopped and restarted with in a few hours, a new TPS did not fix.

Not sure if it helps, but this should be a sticky, cause a few things I didn't know and might have helped me as a chased mine down.

Lounge / The Car Show
I dvr'd it. I think it's what top gear usa should be.
I LOVE the hosts, and I had heard they did something awhile back and was hoping it was for top gear, but the shows not bad.
They have good chemistry, matt farah is great, carolla is funny as hell, and Sally is just too ed tall! I hope it does well, I really like the first episode and the second is set to record.

Lounge / Been awhile, but has anyone owened a 2003 saturn ION? Looking for review
I've looked online, but only the angry people ever post reviews it seems. I'm looking for a used car have a line a decent 2003 Saturn Ion 2 (4 door auto, wish it was a stick). I had an 97 SL1 as a daily driver when I had my 'bird, and I liked it well enough, ran well, great gas mileage, no problems till almost 200,000 when the headgasket, power steering and tie rod all went with in days of each other.

You guys have always been honest and I'm still lurking, hoping to get another 4 eyed bird, and thought you might have some sage words. Thanks again!

General Computer Forum / upgrade of older pc
upgrade to sp2 (you don't have to, but you should), mini-sysprep it, load all your parts, turn it on. re-activate windows. the sysprep will remove the machine id, and hardware registry keys, so when you turn it on it will relaod drivers and generate a new SID.

that's it.

General Computer Forum / Windows 7
i've been running it for awhile now, still need to update to the RC.
We have 2 people in the office running RC and it runs better than Vista.

BIG TIP:
disable IPv6... you have to make a registry change to do it.

HKLM:system, current control set, services, TCPIPv6, paramerters: new dword (32bit) DisabledComponents hex value ffffffff

this will speed up tcpip and all related functions.

biggest issues for me so far, chrome won't work and adobe reader 7 is what installs from the adobe site.
