Engine Tech / oil return line issues (2.3t)
it looks as if there's about an inch and a half difference in height between your drain and the fitting in the block.  on mine, it's  near at the same level.  it's hard to get any kind of downhill slop when it's directly across from the turbo drain.  this is frustrating.  i'm afraid i may just have to tap the pan.  i've just never done that, and i'm hesitant to give it a shot.

Engine Tech / oil return line issues (2.3t)
here's the deal. i've finally got the motor running, but it's smoking quite a lot out of the exhaust. levi and i have it narrowed down to the oil return line. i used a rubber line just to get it running, but it's obviously not going to work. no matter how i route it, or how long i make it, i've still got a very slight uphill run. i know shannon has recently come out with a new return line that works with a stock set up, but mine is a bit different, and i don't think it'll work.

what i've got is a wh1c on a bob's 3rd gen center mount header. the problem i'm running in to is that there really isn't much difference at all in height between the outlet of the turbo, and the fitting in the block. the compressor housing of the turbo is kind of in the way of routing it in a way that i think it might work.

my question is this: has anyone, running this same set up, come across this problem and found a solution... aside from tapping the pan? if so, what fittings did you use, what type of line... etc.? do you have any pictures of said line?

thanks in advance for any help with this.

you want to but mine? Its got a cracked head I am pretty sure because the temp gauge moves all over and the anti freeze has some oil in it. I am still driving it until I finish the body work on my 99 explorer I just got with the 5.0 in it and 40000 miles for $2800. I will be geting rid of my 93 explorer when I am done working on the 99

i just dumped a bunch of money into mine... i don't need another one.:flip:

VARY NIICE! No bodylift, I just dont like the idea of body lifts.

Whats next? 12" and 38"s

next will be an sas.... once i break this set up.  lol.  to run bigger than the 33's, i'd really want to get better axles.  i also need to get some 4.56's... the 3.73's make this thing a pig.  lol.

nice looking ride but for the life of me i cant see a car coming from the land of salt/snow not having rust issues on the underside.

I dont know much about the car so i am assuming.
i actually bought the car from tc2 in ohio.  it's been a little over a year, but the car was never driven in the snow at all.

i initially took it apart because i tried running a bit too much boost and popped the hg.  i took it apart one day with the intention of finishing the job, but got side tracked in something else.  i've just never finished up on it.

the only blemish on the interior.

Is that the one that used to be in Ohio, that was painted a GM blue? I used to drool over that one.

(sigh) If I only had a place to put it...
I don't have the time to work on it, but I have the cash to pay someone to :D

The price is not set in stone. There are a few mods to it, not much though. They were all done by the previous owner of the cas who is a member here. It's got a cable clutch, t3 swap, boost control valve, 3.73 gears, and a couple other miscellaneous things. The car is in kc.
