On my '88 T-bird Sport, the "door ajar" light stays on, but the dome light goes off when the door is shut. I wouldn't think the pin-switch(es) would be bad if one work and the other doesn't.
I have a set of 8 hole alloys with center caps. One of the caps has dings and probably should be replaced.
The wheels do need refinished and appear to be structurally sound. They do not include tires. These are located in Anderson Indiana, but will sell for $160 shipped. Prefer paypal for payment. PM me for more info.
I picked up this 1988 T-bird Sport with a 302, and less than 75k miles a couple months ago. I've posted what it looked like when I picked it up and also this weekend after some much needed changes.
I removed the stainless rocker covers, trunk emblem, and original wheels. From there I painted a set of 4 lug Pony wheels and added a set of 225/60R16 touring tires for a more aggressive look.
Looks like 2 different cars.
More mods to come, including Pioneer Audio, window tint, and minor body work to keep it in good shape.
I'm looking at installing a Pioneer head unit into my '88 T-bird Sport. I'm looking at installing a Pioneer single DIN CD player, and would like to know what you guys would recommend as far as dash install kits, and harness adapters.
I'm new to the Ford world, so I just want to be sure I'm on the right path.
I'm brand new to the forum, and have a clean 1988 T-bird Sport with 74k original miles. One of the first thing I plan to do is change the wheels and tires.
I'll definitely go with a 4 lug Mustang/Cobra wheel, but I want to be sure they'll fit before I buy. I've narrowed it down to the gunmetal 17x8 Cobra R or gunmetal 17x9 10th Anniversary Cobra wheel.
The 17x8 Cobra R's have a 5.09" backspace and +15mm offset, while the 17x9 10th Anniversary wheels have a 5.79" backspace and +20mm offset.
I just want to be able to bolt the wheels on and go. The car is in excellent shape, so I don't want to modify it if I don't need to.
