That's right, she hauls! The .63 T3 actually went full-boost (18 psi till break-ins done) at half throttle, 3K RPMS! I guess my intake/head/E6 porting worked. The roller cam makes run smooth as glass and she's actually quiet! (For an open exhaust car anyway). Now that the street car runs, time to start building the race car.:flip:
Hey everybody, Eric finally gave me a new password, and I'm back! I lost my old one when I moved (New address is: 1200 West Holly St, Bellingham, WA 98225). I also built Layla's new forged motor and installed:evilgrin: Ya'll better watch out when the tracks re-open. I also transferred within the USCG as I await my retirement. Then I'll be hitting up the Birds/Cats full-time while I take advanced welding and fiberglass courses.
It's a 1992 (1st year of 2nd gen) Ford Taurus SHO. 3.0L DOHC v6 Yamaha engine, 5-Speed manual trans, EVERY option. Deep Jewel Pearl Metallic paint (JUST had it all touched up and the front bumper re-sprayed), Platinum full-leather interior, power moonroof, mirrors, locks, dual 12-way seats with lumbar AND side-bolster. EATC climate control, 9-speaker JBL CD system (400W, factory option, 8" sub), auto-dim headlights, reduntant controls, etc. ALL NEW R134a A/C system, heater works great, Bridgestone 225-60ZR16's on re-painted "Slicer" wheels. Mods: Custom 2.5" mandrel-bent H-Pipe and exhaust with NO CATS and factory "power pack" lers w/chrome tips (sounds like a Ferrari), Optima red-top, RAM Stage I Kevlar 9.5" street/strip clutch, FL professionally tinted windows, dash and center console painted same color as car, aluminum gauge bezel, silver SHO inserts, clear corner lights. ALL NEW: front &rear brakes (calipers, rotors, lines, pads, etc), rad, o2 sensors, all engine sensors, 90K tune-up incl adjusting valves, halfshafts w/CV joints, front suspension. The car has 99K miles on it, I am the second owner, I raced it ONCE at a 13.37 @104 MPH. It needs: radio (i lost the factory one), 3rd&4th gear synchros and fork. It's an actual 83, small emblems and everything. Silver/grey cloth, 5Spd, 98K miles, prem sound, with PERFECT Marchal's and 2 sets of perfect covers. Riding on 10-holes (215 front, 255 back) and came with the original set of 8-holes on original wheels. It's complete down to the tray inside the console. Are y'all sitting down? $400 took it home. :D :D :D :D :hick: I am the greatest! Now if I can only convince the girlfriend that it was a good idea...

New issue came in yesterday and the letter of the month was from Ron DeWitt asking for a 83-88 TBird/Cougar vs. 89-97 TBird/Cougar Shootout, and MM&FF said send in the applications! This is open to ALL engines so any 83-88 TBird or Cougar can enter. I highly suggest anybody with a remotely fast (13sec or quicker) car to email the shootout editor at steve.baur@primedia.com !!! Eric, bring the vert anyway, it's a shoe-in for a feature.
:D For those of you who are not NATO members, a quick review of my beloved Layla. She's an 88 TC med clearcoat red metallic 5-Speed with all the options, including a red leather interior and power moonroof. I bought he over a year ago barely running and 3 different colors. A few pics of her now are on my site (she's the backround as well). Now she's all one color with a new motor (100K out of an auto TC) with many mods: Aerobird Motorsports prototype cold-air kit, AM IC silicone IC hoses, Gillis valve (@ 8# until I get her tuned and broken in), Cruzin' 35# fuel injectors, Kirban AFPR, BBK 255lph fuel pump, A/C removed, and a 2' long 2.5" open exhaust (which won't last long). She's mean, fast, and loud. And only my street car! Just wait till I get project Thunderstruck done... (Code 33 Silver-Blue 87 TC no option car with a fully-built 400 HP motor...). I figure that if I sell products, I should back them. So if you want to know if something works, come take a ride!
