This car is a rare find. One owner, well maintained with only 45,515 original miles. A/C, Power windows, new tires, new paint in 1998, new exhaust, new tune-up, new battery and everything in great working order. I know exactly how you feel man. We've been trying for over 2 years and just had the ultrasound this week to find out my wife also has serious internal stuff going on that most likely will need surgery. Our insurance does not cover infertility treatments either. I've got my Cougar for sale right now. This issue isn't the main factor in me selling, but it was the final straw for me to have to let it go.
I definitely feel you on the "just let it happen stuff." My wife has said the next person who tells her to just relax is going to get punched in the face. Facebook is the bane of her existence as every day one of her friends or old classmates posts that they are pregnant (or pregnant again). It's like watching a train wreck, it makes you so upset but you just can't turn away.
The situation sucks, but it's good to know that you're not the only one going through it (though it often feels like it). I'll keep ya in my prayers as well. We all need it.
There's a little bit along the bottom of the doors, not visible when they're shut - only when you look under them when open. There's a little bit of bubbling near the rear wheel wells as well. But for the most part it's pretty clean. It's always been a Virginia car so the winters are pretty easy here. I can take some more pictures tonight if you want.

can you take some pictures of the interior and do you know if the seats will fit a 88 Thunderbird Sport.... your seats (at least the rear one ) look to be in great shape... mine are all faded... I live pretty close to you, I'm in Williamsburg..... maybe some of the dash stuff and door panels will fit the bird also... I know nothing about Cougars.. (not the 4 legged type anyway's)
The rear seats are in excellent condition, they have very rarely been sat in so they look new. The rear seats should fit fine in your Sport, but the fronts are a little different. My car has the consolette which is attached to the drivers seat frame. If you want to use the front seats you would need to cut that off. But pretty much everything on a Cougar is compatible with a Thunderbird, except the lights and some body panels.

I briefly posted this car up for sale 6 months ago, then took it off hoping to be able to fix it up. Unfortunately personal issues are forcing me to get rid of it for good this time. :(
It's an 88 LS with 200,000 miles on it, black with gray cloth interior. I'm the second owner, bought it in 2001.
It is not currently in running condition. The motor will start fine, but needs a new battery. I have not attempted to start it or drive it in about 4 months. Things I know are bad are the battery, power steering pump, a small crack in the windshield, A/C, cruise control, and no radio - I took that out. A problem also recently appeared where steam started to come from the transmission when the engine warmed up. When I drove it around the neighborhood it slipped a little bit as well. When I first took the car off the road this problem was not there and the transmission was in perfect shape. I suspect it just needs a fluid/filter change. In short, it needs to go on a trailer, not be driven away.
I've did a lot of little upgrades to it over the years. It has the H.O. intake manifold, Mustang Turbine Rims, body color mirrors, Taurus heater panel mod, Autometer Tach mounted on the column, XR7 steering wheel, 3G alternator.
The body is generally in nice shape, no accidents that I am aware of. There's a little bit of rust around the wheel wells and bottom of the doors but it's not rusted out by any means. I replaced the heater core right before I stopped using it. I also have lots of extra parts upgrades for it: Turbo Couple springs, sway bars, and door panels, pair of Mustang shorty headers, and various extra parts. I also have all the original Ford repair manuals, a Haynes manual, and lots of receipts/repair records.
I'm looking to get $400 for it. I will be extremely sad to see it go, but I really should have sold it several years ago. I don't have the time to part it out. So hopefully a Fox body lover can make good use of it.
Here's the actual LS lights against the Cougar. I think it looks pretty good from the front. But the second and third pics show that the angle of the lens just would not work with the car. The internals of the light would need to be used in a custom formed enclosure. If you want to pursue this further PM me b/c I think I still have the LS light.
I might be able to find some of the originals on my hard drive at home. I had some ideas but never pursued it much past the concept stage. The most promising lead at the time was to gut Lincoln LS lights and most likely vacuum form a new lens to fit the shape of the car.

I talked to this guy and the car sounds to be in great condition. It has a grey leather interior that is in good shape. He's a nice guy to talk to and located in Madison, VA (north of Charlottesville).
