i live right near worcester ma... he was gonna give it to me for $100 but seeing that i need a place to store it till summer thats another $200... idk... the body is relitively mint with some light rust around a few edges. the only area that looks like a problem is the drivers side fender which i would replace. i was thinking of just trading the bike for it, gettin a 351 and a 8.8 out of a mustang and having it ready for the summer nationals this year. i really am not sure if i could find another turbocoupe and have it ready by then, even though i perfer the 87 and 88's... what kinda parts will i need for the carbed 351w swap. i was already lookin at tubeular k members.... and im not sure of where im gonna get the 351 from yet. i want a year with some ok stock heads and a strong block. thanks... i told em i have some other people interested in the motorcycle and ill let em know during the week of my final desision.
Hope i dont make this too long. anyways ever since i sent the 87 to the s yard (170k and welded gas tank straps, fuel pump burnt out) i have been looking for a thunderbird project car. i was coming home from work one day and i saw a 1986 turbocoupe for sale. its black with a 5 speed and 169k. anyways the guy wanted $750 but i talked em down to $500 and it looks like the body has minimal rust for its age. it had a leak in the brake line and he said he would fix that before i bought it. i call em up the other day and he said that when he went to move it to fix the brake line the turbo blew up. i think that when he went to move it he beat the out of it and did that himself thinking some young kid was buyin it (well im 20). anyways when i called him and he told me that he said that he was giving the 8.8 rear end and the tranny to his father for some parts for his 72 nova. he said that for $300 he will give me the car and let me store it for 3 months minimum till i get the parts to put a 351 in. i left him a message saying that if i sell my motorcycle during the next week ill have the money for him.(i have 2 people interested so far) he left me a message back asking how much for it...lol... so im hoping i can get the thunderbird, some storage, and $100 - 200... does this sound like its worth it? by the way i paid 250 for the motorcycle in the fall...(and $40 for the battery and $30 for the manual) so 320...
Yay! 3 days till my 1973 buick electra is paid off! i told my stepdad that im takin the heads off next weekend to have em rebuilt but he thinks i should pull the 455 cause once the heads are redone it'll put more stress on the engine... whats everyone think? she's got 96k miles on her...
Hello... no... didnt get my thunderbird yet...its still on my to do list... it WILL happen though...i miss my old one... but anyway... this is what my new car is... a 1972... buick... electra 225... got me a deuce and a quarter! i love it... heres some info on it... i talked to the guy(my girlfriends uncle) and he told me of a car he had sitting that he wasnt doing anything with... so i asked more about it and told me it was a 4 door buick... he also told me there was some surface rust from it sitting (was garaged from previous owner) and that it had about 120k miles on it... i drove to where he said it was ( a local garage) and there it was... sitting there... just waiting for me to scoop it up... i look at the outside... white... some surface rust where the vinal(i cant spell) top was and on the trunk and inbetween where the rear glass and trunk lid is where the only real rust and rot is...other than that ... sweet... oh ya... ya know how i said 120k is what he thought it had? nah... i wasnt that lucky... i was luckier!!! it has 98k miles... and the interior...wow... leather is just so nice... i love leather... and i havent even told ya about y i love this car so much... this is the winner right here... 455 big block... BLAM!!! lol... nothing special... they were the stock engine ... its factory rated at 260 hp but id say it has way more than that... at over 4000 lb's its a boat... im gonna rebuild the heads first to make it run nice and smooth and give it duel flowmasters for a nice sound...other than that... ima cruise...alot... just at 5 mph in neutral downhill with people pushing with the price of gas nowdays... oh ya... im giving the guy the geo prism to pay for the tow to my house...lol...it was a POS anyways...im gonna see if i can mess the car up hard core first....lol... ill keep everyone updated and show ya some pic's when i get it... oh ya... theres fiberglass covering the back window... ill explain that some other time... was gonna be a custom thing but... ya... WOOP WOOP!!!!!
is that really y i have to tap the starter with a wrench? ... i havent had any problems with it since i got it...starts right up now that i jumped it and rode it up and down my street a few times...(dead end street) ill probably have to replace the clutch kinda soon... any idea of how much that could run me? i want to look for a junk yard in my area to get new doors and fenders for cheep... cause this is one embearising car to be driving...lol
hey everyone i talked to the person i bought the car and heres what he told me... tap the starter with a wrench! he said the starter started to act funny right after the 30 day warrenty was up...so he has to tap it with a wrench for it to work... but it starts right up after... it seems fine and i think it'll work till i get another one... but thats screwed up! lol im spray painting it black this weekend and dying the interior black also... it had no shift so i drilled out a golf ball... thats the highlight of the car... my friend is wiring a stereo in it next week so yay...
hey everyone i havent been on here in a while. just got a sweet deal on a car... free... its a 1991 geo prism 4 door... sucks balls but its got a stick so it'll get me from A to B and hopefully back without a towtruck... 141k miles... dented like a SOB and people wrote stuff with marker all on the interior but still...free! it's gonna be my transportation till i save for my 5 speed turbocoupe...($400 saved so far) i have a problem though... the kid drove it here and said he had to jump start it cause the battery died... what would make it die? also i had it hooked up to a neibors vehicle for a few minutes and it wouldnt even turnover... the interior lights all work but no clicking... could the alternator and starter be bad? idk... i gotta get these problems sorted out asap so i can put it on the road... sry this isnt a thunderbird post... my bird was saddly dragged off to the bone yard and i still havent gotten a replacement...any help is appreciated...
Hey everyone... got a quick question for ya... is there anyway i can disconnect the milage on a 1993 four door cavalier without disconnecting the speedometer? id appreciate an answer tonight ... cause i gotta find out by tomarrow...
