Price Guides don't mean a thing. If you try to sell it, then you will find out what it's worth. If you want to know the value right now, put it on evilbay with a super high reserve and see where it goes. I realize that's not 100% accurate, but it will give you a rough idea.

Good idea!, I guessed to do that a couple of times, and never do, But I'll try in a couple of weeks, and say here when It on ebay with a reserve of 100.000$ eheh!.

Have a nice Day,

Hello,

Okay, thanks Guy's, I not asked this to sale My bird, ohhhhhhh NO, I never sold this car, But at the near of his 25years I was just curious.

I renewed the licences of the bird last month, after sitting a bit outside since March (no snoe, ect) and i was really surprised when I drived, no issues ( the car is saturated of oil ) ans drive exceptionally well.

Is different of My 3 little Suzuki swift 1991, except for the fuel consumption, Bird=33mpg highway, Suzuki's 3 banger near 60mpg.

This winter I'll enter the Bird in My garage with two of my Suzuli's (ragtop and the turbo one), and take care of all of these, especially My lovely Bird...

Roundly this car cost to Me around 10-12.000 CDN$, but it's perfect and not for sale :)

Thanks Guy's,

Have a nice Day,

Dom.

Lounge / looong winter fot the Bird.
Hello,

LOng time You see guy's.

It's just cau'z I was very very busy this last summer.

One cause it's because I purchased for "nothing" a little 1991 Firefly AUTOMATIC (HUH), changed the little 3 banger in for a 1997 fresh one, completely redone the body, ect, ect, painted SUNNY YELLOW yesss, ans 2-3 weeks ago swapped the auto trans for a 5 speed trans .

I always hates these puppies cars, BUT it really quick for the engine, extremely economicsl (around 50mpg), and surprising cargo space.

I purchased another one, I'll "renew" like the fly, another 1991 3 banger, 5 speed original.

With the recent raise gas price I decided to store the bird in the garage for around 2 years, and pull out for his 25 years in 2010 for the fest of a friend in late august of each years.

Last year (last august) I was here with My Firafly automatic ( at this time), I guess I was the most see car heheheh.

Next week I'll put in the garage with a dust cover for over a year, I'm not glad to make this, but when I''ll restart I'll guess I'll happy a lot.

Next time Guy's.

Not, is not a HVLP gun, a standard succion DeVilbiss, but i start my firsts layers at low pressure like 25~35 psi, relatively slow motion and I finish My 2 last layers at 60 psi or recommended pressure, and I diluate a bit more the prescribed to glass the paint, and cut off the frost if the car have from the previous layers.

GENERALLY I coat with a 6 ot 7 layers for a car, My bird have around 8 or 10 don't remember, and the McNugget :) Have 5 or 6, this is help me to place the paint and glaze it.

This is for an acrylic paint, for a base coat is a different thing, and another sprayer on My gun.

Dom.

Just found a picture of that yellow McNugget :) (it was lightb blue when acquired).

Foreground is the Firefly/geo, background is My lovely '85 T-Bird, I drove only 200miles with the bird this summer, I like the McNugget economy heheh! :)

Hi,

Check on ebay or similar, a good ole DeVilbiss generally sold under 100$, the only thing is You must have to put a new kit in it, the DeVilbiss kit is so expensive (around 100$), but a kit fron a copy of devilbiss cost around 20-30$.

do not use the high pressure guns, unless you like wasting paint on overspray....  use a HVLP gun.  I have both of those devilbiss starting line guns, and love them.  I painted my blue '88 Thunderbird with them and also my fender on my XR-7 before CJ...  I planned to paint the cougar this summer with them but I just I am getting behind schedule and will have to wait till next summer...  or rent a booth...

Hi!,

I agree with You with the pressure and paint wasting, but I shoot at under pressure as stated (depending of paint brand and type too), and I'll paint at high pressure ONLY at the two last layers to shine the paint.

I painted My little geo metro OUTSIDE in My yard last month with an acrylic enamel (Limco BASF) But I don't like the finish of this paint, But the geo look like new, like a base coat job :)

I started My job at 25~30 psi to reduce the amount of "fume" for my neighboors, and My 4-5 layers are a full 60~65 psi, and look awesome.

N'yways is My winter car.

Have a nice Day,

Dom.

I used to have a JGA 502 too, but unfortunately someone else liked it more than I did. Loved the way it sprayed. Now I have a Sharpe "Cobalt" that has yet to be used.

Hello,

I don't know the Sharpe COBALT, is this a succion or gravity gun or this model is available in the two kinds?.

I used a BINKS, Kelloggs (I hated this one), and a lot of guns over the years, and always liked the JGA502, this is a old timer gun, but I LOVE IT!!!, two of My three JGA's are from the furniture company of My father, and one bought NEW in 1983.

Still satisfied with that.

Dom,
Hang on to that gun.
They say it's the only gun that can lay a finish like a newer HVLP gravity gun.
They still go for about $100 on ebay, last time I checked.

Hello,

I paid My first NEW JGA502 $289.00 in 1983 when I rebuilted My Mercury Cyclone 1970.

I painted My 1991 Geo metro last month with the same gun :) (not the same car).

I not remember correctly, but I guess this gun (or same in DeVilbiss) is 450-500$ today, but this info is very very vague.

I have 3 of these guns, and a couple of differents tips/sprayers, and i'll keep in My metal armor, safe and CLEAN!, even if one is a primer gun...

Have a nice Day,

Dom.

I use a DeVilbiss suction gun model JGA502 (not a gravity) over 30 years, and I always satisfied, and I'll paint again with it, and for years and years.

Other guns have a great shooting but the DeVilbiss JGA 502 is MY gun...

Lounge / How much does gas costing u.
Yeah, for sure, My 4 eyed Bird have only 245 miles this summer, I guess the last year I'll keep in the garage, and IF I will drove with I'll pull our of the basp00get garage, It's better than to sit in the grass and waiting for a ride...

I use the Bird ONLY when I need a comfortable easy ride (not a very long trip), and for the air conditioning :)

OPS!, the power too, My  3 cylinder have not power a lot, very not power.

Have a great Day,

Dom.
