Lounge / Anyone know a good source for sewage pumps?
So, I think my effluent pump has failed or is otherwise screwed up.  Its a 1hp 230v single phase pump (myers WHR10-21C), I pulled it out to attempt some testing on it and it doesnt seem to deliver the rated flow of water that the performance curves suggests.  It claims its rated at ~165gpm with a 6ft head (basically just the discharge pipe off the pump and emptying into a bucket, I measured it at a 1 gallon in 5 seconds, 12 gpm...

The pump does move water so Im not totally willing to write it off but in my system that is not nearly enough flow to get the effluent up the street to the leech fields.  Of course the pump listing at $1400 also doesn't excite me too much either.

Anyone got any ideas for increasing flow or what would cause it to not deliver the rated flow?

Lounge / So, my septic is backing up...
Well, I read through this whole thread yesterday...got home and the alarm on my septic pump was going off :(

I checked power to the tank last night and all is good to there so I suppose its a call to the old pumper truck to come make the mess go away.  Of course the one up side is that the system isnt backing up yet, but my pump does show a short across the terminals.

I feel your pain.

Body/Appearance/Interior / Dash top Gauge Pod?
Anyone seen one that would work?  Ideally a pod that accepts 2 5/8" gauges.  Debating on the merits of fiberglassing one together.  Tried to make on to fit the driver speaker grill but the gauges are too tall to clear the high angle windscreen

Just t off a resister with the voltage you want to light the light.

The problem is, the signal is a positive voltage normally, low pressure is vower voltage.  So using that method, the light would go off when the supply voltage fell below a certain threshold, I would prefer the opposite to happen.

(snip) how do you know your electric fp is accurate?

I have both a electronic FP gauge and a pyrometer I would like to monitor.  My though is I should be able to T a LED and SCR (perhaps a better idea for a gate?) to trigger a LED if one of the gauges fall below a certain level.

i.e. fuel pressure, ideal level is 5-6 volts depending on boost if it drops below 4.8 I want to trigger a LED mounted next to the gauge to turn on.

Any Ideas on how to accomplish this?

The pyrometer would be a high side gauge so I think I can set this to trigger simply with an LED and a known threshold voltage level.  its the below a level and turn on that I am having trouble with.

Engine Tech / V6 exhaust
Search may yield more results.

On my v6 years ago I ran 94-up factory headers as they are tubular,  Mustang 2.5 H-pipe, too two 2.25 tails through flowmaster 40's.  You can clear the passenger side jsut fine you just have to smart when runnng the pipes as anything more than 2.25 wont clear easily.

Lounge / Water Heater
bear with me here, the flex hose to preheat as you suggested.  old baseboard heater from a boiler system, or 3.  The tough part is supporting the heat exchangers and the thermal transfer system you would need.  Im thinking heat exchangers, submerged in water up in the peak of the roof.  The heat exchangers are quite efficent being mostly copper and alum.
Dunno the exact layout in your home but I had considered a slightly smaller system submerged in a pond as a method of home cooling last summer when I was sweating my....

T-Bird/Cougar Parts & Cars FOR SALE / 1986-87-88 T-Bird TC Parts And More

I've never tried to see if they're interchangable. I would think they'd be too different though. I'm sure someone on here would know?
Thanks.

The digital control unit wont directly interchange as far as I know, they require different harnesses.  You'll be much happier with the lower level unit as its far less trouble pr0ne.

Might be worth checking the E6 for cracks too, I had a mani that would whistle until it was nice and hot and the crack sealed up some.

I'll take some pics when I get the parts drawer cleaned out either tonight or tommorrow.  Really would rather trade this away for something I need as I have no idea what they are worth anymore.

Suspension/Steering / Pros/Cons of Running 225 50R16?
Its already on a 1" drop, who knows I suppose.  The tires were free and I need them badly to replace my dry rotted ones from the car sitting the past two years.  Im not too worried about the harsher ride, its not a daily driver anymore.
