Body/Appearance/Interior / Gauge Cluster swap
Will a gauge cluster form a 90 mustang fit in an 88 tbird? I found a deal on a cut panel with gauges but its for a 90 mustang. Any help is appreciated.

That's one plus of having a power steering leak. My power steering fluid is cleaner than any car on the road. It doesn't stay in long enough to get dirty.

^Lol.

Lounge / Is there a point where you should stop sinking money into a car?
No, I think that summed up pretty much how I felt and glad I'm not alone in it.

And ya your car has made a MAJOR transformation, Daminc.

Main thing is I want to bring it up here where I'm at but it wants to run warm and I have no where to work on it up here. Think I'm going to see if the timing isn't advancing (the hot issue) fix that and the PS leak, then swap to vacuum breaks and bring it up. I think I can pull and recover the dash, plus fix wiring in the parking lot of my apt without any one complaining. I'll just buy a window blocker and hide most of the work I'm doing.

Iunno I'm just kinda disappointed, think I got like 5k in the new engine and it is probably just a little over 400 hp. The motor was made for a ranger but my 2.3t motor was disappointing so I swapped it out of my bird (I like curvy roads more than straight line so ranger wasn't going to fulfill any road race ideas). Same for my trans, I built it up for my 2.3t (c4) and now I want to go AOD. So I have a 2.3t motor I built up and a trans with no home, or possibly a ranger, but don't want to start 2 projects. I sold all the extras I had for the 2.3 but stuff like an engine is hard to get rid of in my area.

I've dumped a ton of money into my car and looking back some of it was a huge waste but vaulable learning experience. I'm alot more frugal in my purchases, but when is it time to say good bye to your car? I'm 3 hours removed from mine and feeling like it is a burden at this point. Mostly as I can't work on it, and can never sell it for what I have in it. I could of bought a new mazda 3 in cash if I hadn't spent what I have on it over the years.

(I'm keeping my car but frustration is at an all time high, wishing I started with a nicer base to work from)

Electrical Tech / Soooo...... I've been busy lots of wire
ISIS power systems, they make wiring solutions for cars apparently (just looked at them). Their system consists of a Master cell (controller for electric system) and Power Cell (things that actually recieve the power). So the Master cell is a micro controller that reads multiple inputs and communicats with the power cell via a CAN (smaller cable) and the PC recieves the input and turns on the device. SO instead of having to run your Brake light switch, blinkers, and tail lights individually all the way to the back, you instead put to the PC and the pc has a single wire (will like 4-5 but is sealed in single wire) that runs back to the power cell which in turn is conected to the tail lights and tells it what to do based on the input from the MC. Its 1k for a 3 cell kit though.

Electrical Tech / Anyone send me a copy of 88 tbird evtm?
Per subject, Buying up supplies and about to dive into this.
Removing Power Brake System
All under hood wiring being removed

Rerunning in dash, headlights, brakelights, and Fuel pump.

Wiring on my car is in scary shape and this needs to be done before it burns to the ground.

Just checked ISIS website and wow, thats pretty neat. I'm guessing no relays are needed then since it uses those power blocks?

Also chuck, are those scopes infront of your rear wheel functional? If so the are BA.
