Engine Tech / Intake Carb combo
I want to throw a different set of heads on because the '84 5.0L heads have a hole on the back of each with a pipe going to the smog pump. I have taken all but the pipe off. I'd just rather replace the heads and not worry about blocking that pipe. If I can find a nice deal on a cam I would love to put a cam in it. Right now the motor is pushing factory HP numbers which IIRC are around 130 at best. I want it to run smooth and be able to at least accelerate and not bog down under heavy throttle. I know all of the problems with the motor and its all CFI related. I have the money for an intake and carb, and probably a set of heads and a cam. Instead of buying a nice dovetail trailer, I would rather drive it to shows still. These problems have been scaring me into not driving it out of town.

Would a 600 be overkill? or should I put one on now if I do go with a cam and heads? I can always adjust the fuel pressure. I'm not worried about power numbers or the RPM range. This is all about driveability and reliability.

Engine Tech / Intake Carb combo
Well I'm sick of the CFI and I'm going Carbed. I've been looking at a Performer series intake and a Holley or Edelbrock 600 or 650 carb. I'm running a factory '84 Flat Tappet 5.0 with exhaust. I plan on putting different heads on it. All opinions and options I'm open to. Need some help shopping parts. Thanks guys.

Lounge / How much?
My grandparents bought the Cougar in '86 for my Uncle, after he was killed it was stored for me. I've put a whole new fuel system, water pump, rebuilt valve body in the C4, Headliner, seats dyed, TC Hood, wheels, exhaust, 5 lug swap parts, suspension goodies. I've got about $4k wrapped up in it. I've got a $10k motor planned out and a full suspension to build on top of that.

User Rides / My 87 LX
It looks good man!! I've been trying to figure out how to make a ducktail for my Bird. I've been wanting to make a sheetmetal one, just havent had the time to form one and test fit it.

Suspension/Steering / Master Cylinder Replacement
I bought a factory replacement booster, and I haven't bought a Master Cylinder yet. The booster is the problem I found out. I know nothing about brakes. I want to upgrade to rear disks, I'm really just pushing to get the brakes fixed for the car show I'm going to next month. I went last year and don't want to miss this year. All else fails I can haul my car there and just roll in the Zoo in 1st and mash the pedal til she stops.

Suspension/Steering / Master Cylinder Replacement
I know most parts from 79-04 are interchangeable. I need to replace the Master Cylinder on my Cougar, will anything from a 90s Stang work and is there a difference between the GT and Cobra MC? How extensive is the replacement process? I found a 93 Cobra MC and Resevoir brand new, and it's what I would go with if possible. All suggestions and tips are appreciated.

Lounge / So much hood scoop win
I was looking for a scoop to mold onto the hood of the T-Bird, and this popped up. When I put it on, the underside will be cut out and made functional. The only thing I can find I like is a Mustang Cowl Induction, because it isn't squared off, it has curvature.

That's the kinda thing I want to do. Just buy a beater civic/accord or something and do the stupidest modifications to it.

I agree, I want to buy something like a Geo Metro, but the stupid mods I would do would be free stuff. Like the big Coffee Can ler I found by the curb, lame decals, spray paint, sheetmetal spoiler, leftover underbody neons that people threw away.

General Fox T-Bird/Cougar Discussion / Ever see these options before?
I have power mirrors and windows, manual locks and seats. Also I have AM/FM only, no cassette. I love my Cougar so much lol. The only power item I do enjoy is power windows, and the only real reason is because in my car, I wouldn't like the crank on the door panel, I like the clean look. I will post a picture of my car, and I bet Eric is the only one who can point out something about my car that isn't factory, but no one would ever know it wasn't supposed to be there.
