Title: 85 5.0 roller ready?
Post by: 88FoxBird on August 08, 2019, 06:56:53 PM
What are the chances my late 85 (2/85 build date) is roller ready? My understanding is that the bosses should be there but may not be drilled.

Doubtful. I assume that you have a CFI engine which is a simple low output 5.0. I'm basing my opinion on my 84 Cougar having the fore mentioned set up.  I simply bought a rusted out parts car (88 mustang lx) with a great low mile drive train (5.0, T-5 , 8.8 ) and trans planted all of it. Much cheaper than modding what you've got. You can still keep your AOD if you wish.

I'll find out soon enough I guess. Got some oil leaks to take care of and may end up having to pull the intake so I'll find out then. Still gotta chase down this high idle issue. Goes away with little tap on the throttle. Not sure if the cable is sticking a hair or the high idle is kicking in but it's annoying lol
