I just switched over to the new 3.5in blow through style maf meter from professional mass air systems aka (pro-m). Since I put this meter on, the car won't idle, has no drivability, and just flat will not stay running. Now the meter was calibrated for my injectors and the new blow through is supposed to be the hot ticket for procharged cars. I also don't understand why the meter has six wires leading into it as the stock units only have four. The wires break down as follows E (temp signal) A (12v power) B (ground) C (maf signal return) D (maf signal) F (temp signal return). Now A,B,C,D are the same as the old meter but the temp signal wires are for WHAT?
I'm pulling my hair out, anybody have any suggestions? Because I've called PMAS about five times in the last 3 days and they won't return my calls, seeing how their tech dept. is only open 3 hours a day (what a joke)
I ran at the track this weekend, (got my hands on some slicks)15x8 I put the 17lb pulley on with the 55 shot ( went for broke), car went 10.21 at 132mph with a neck snapping 1.49 60ft. (that really hurt, wasn't prepared). Scared the $h!t out of me! I was racing a 89 notch mustang that went 11.19 and severly handed him his ass. :D Guy was really cool, and gave me a major compliment on how fast the car was. I guess it goes to show that not all mustang owners are dicks! He was really shocked how my car still had a/c and full interior with power everything (no gutted cars here)
Unfortunately, I may be permanently banned from that track as thats the second time the official told me not to come back without a cage. I'll find out soon- plan on going at the end of the month.
First run at the track since I got the heads back on the car, and I broke somethin else.
The pass was great went 11.87 at 131, (was 80 degrees) but at least the tires stuck a little better ( 60 ft was a 1.92).
After the run I noticed I had a slight nock ( barely noticable over the louder than $h!t blower), so I took off the belt and it sounded like valvetrain.
Got the car home and removed the upper plenum and the valve covers. uhhh ohhhhhhhhh!
I broke the #8 exaust rocker stud :dunno:
So hopefully thats all I broke ( haven't had time to inspect the rest)
But at least I was told by the track official not to come back until I have a rollcage :giggle: :giggle:
Also had alot of people come up to me and ask if it had a big block, and I told them no, it's just got a very large hair dryer on it
I went to the track this weekend and put the 17lb pulley on the blower. Car got insane until half track, and decided to spit up both head gaskets #3 & #7. Car still went 13.33 at 90mph, (on street tires)after pulling it out of gear at 1/2 track and coasting. Guess there's not enough injector ( only 42lbs). :shakehead
I was wondering if any body has had this problem. I have an 86 bird equipped with the digital dash. I have upgradded to a 130 amp alt and it has worked fine for the last year the other day I started it and the alternator wouldn't charge. I thought the alt. was bad so i swapped it (lifetime warranty from autozone). After I changed it the thing went full field and starting charging at 21 volts. What is the deal. I am not sure if the digital dash has an IVR. Any help would be very appreciated
