Title: Anyone still around?
Post by: Haystack on December 17, 2023, 03:08:31 AM
Just curious how many people just lurk now. I check in every month or two, but have been horrible about actually logging in.

How many peeps we still got hanging around?

I check in at least weekly. Still have my birds, someday I’ll get back to them.

the question actually lends itself more towards a much larger question that simply goes ignored.

Most of us have gone to Facebook groups but I'm glad the forum is still here.  :birdsmily:  :walkingcat:

FB groups suck for any knowledge archiving or anything worthwhile.

I try to check in daily.  Question was probably not targeting me since I am a relatively new guy here.

FB groups suck for any knowledge archiving or anything worthwhile.
This is my take on FB pages too.  I am in a bunch but when I need good info I go the the forums.  The search function is better on a forum that on FB from my experience.  The only thing that FB may have over a forum is the quick picture posting and quick response that may or may not be correct from some yahoo...............  I kinda marked myself as an old person there didn't I?

Still here.  Have had a really busy year with family (travel to see them, mom having to be admitted to a memory care facility, trying to talk my dad into moving in with us), buying & selling a house, wife getting a new job (best job she has had in her career), putting a new fuel system in the Mustang (old one could not keep up with the demands of the motor), and then keeping up with my projects at work.  All of that kept me from getting back to my alternator not charging on the Bird after the dash project but I plan on getting back on that as I need to put the dash back together before my dad kicks me out of his shop.

The keyed power to turn on the alternator goes through the alternator warning light in the console. (cars without an ammeter)

And there is the problem.  I am using an LED for the light so you have to parallel it with a resistor and use a diode.  I just hosed the wiring when I did it and know how to fix it but just have not had the time.  Everything else works like it should so I am going to swap out the resistor that I used as I think it it bad.  Basically you have to wire it like this to make things work:

I still check in frequently, even though I sold my T-Bird 13 years ago. I'm still holding out hope that I'll find that perfect 4-eye Bird with vent windows some day...

I've been M.I.A. for several years now. Trying to get my car back on the road for next spring/summer.

This caught my eye. I will assume there are folks like me who who spend a lot of time searching and reading, all helpful information as I pick any and enjoy my T-bird. The forum has a ton of answers that are easy to find. Thank you all for the input already posted.
Loving the kick when that turbo spools up in every gear. Who new you could have this much fun under the speed limit.

I'm here. first time ever posting anything, but the forums have always been a treasure trove of tech info and keeps inspiring ideas for continuing my Cougar journey. I know my girl is getting old, but I still keep plugging along. Doing some distributor recurving and maybe some new LT headers and AFR 165 heads this year maybe. The quest goes on!
