Dimensions of the TC 8.8 rear axle - will it work in a Ranger?

Hey everyone - I'm selling some parts and I may have a buyer for my TC 8.8 Rear axle.  It came out of an 88 TC automatic.  He's looking to use it in a Ford Ranger application.
He's going to put coil springs in the front and rear of his Ranger and keep the 5 lug shafts but he needs an axle the same width.

Anyone out there know if this will work? Or what the widths of these axles are?  Are they the same?

It won't work in a Ranger period.

Reason being is a Ranger's stock axle housing has it's carrier offset to one side whereas the TC axle is dead center. If you tried using the TC axle, the driveshaft angle is gonna be off to one side which = BAD.
